Beijing releases a new energy-saving plan to promote the use of high-energy-efficiency light source equipment such as LEDs

Recently, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission and other departments released the "Beijing Municipality's Implementation Plan for Further Strengthening Energy Conservation (2024 Edition)". The implementation plan proposes that party and government agencies, state-owned enterprises and institutions will take the lead in adopting stricter and more refined energy-saving management measures, continue to take the lead in strengthening the appearance lighting management of office buildings, reasonably reduce the intensity of landscape lighting, and shorten the opening time.

The plan proposes to further give play to the exemplary role of party and government agencies and state-owned enterprises and institutions. We will continue to take the lead in strengthening the management of office building exterior lighting, strictly implement the "Beijing Municipal Party and Government Organs, State-owned Enterprises and Institutions' Office Building Appearance Lighting Enhancing Energy Saving Guidelines (Trial)", reasonably reduce the intensity of landscape lighting, and shorten the opening time.

Promote energy-saving renovation of road lighting in an orderly manner. Promote the use of high-energy-efficiency light source equipment such as LEDs, scientifically and rationally control the turn-on time of street lights, and promote intelligent time-sharing and zoning control of street lights. The plan also proposes to carry out energy conservation work in accordance with laws and regulations and strengthen the guarantee of rational energy use for high-quality development.
