Bloomberg: Apple will launch its first AR/VR headset in June this year

Recently, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple will launch its first AR/VR headset at WWDC in June this year, which will be delayed by 2 months from the original April date. Meanwhile, Bloomberg once again said that Apple will name the device Apple Reality Pro.

People familiar with the matter revealed that Apple decided to delay the launch earlier this month after product testing showed that there were still hardware and software issues, and now aims to launch it at its WWDC. Apple has been working on the technology for more than seven years, starting around 2015. The company had planned to launch the product last June, then pushed it back to around January 2023, then to spring, and now has an adjusted date of June 2023.

This AR/MR headset may be the most complex product ever designed by Apple. It has an ultra-high-resolution 8K display and advanced eye-tracking technology. It is also a heavyweight product that Apple has bet on in the past two years. It is rumored to cost about US$3,000.
