Deeply focus on the Nova Nebula to release the COEX control system, which will help the LED display enter the trillion market!

At the beginning of the new year 2023, everything will be updated. On January 5, the LED display industry ushered in a major announcement.

Witnessed by more than 60,000 viewers, Nova Nebula released the COEX control system. As an industry-leading control system solution, Nova COEX will assist the industrialization of Mini/Micro LED, enable various emerging application scenarios such as naked-eye 3D, virtual photography, and LED cinema, and help LED displays enter the trillion-level market.

Industry experts pointed out that the control system serves as the link between the previous and the following displays. When there is a breakthrough in the upstream core technology and the downstream application scenarios are activated, the performance of the control system needs to be improved to a higher level. For example, higher-precision correction technology, more advanced image processing and driving technology; its architecture also needs to be innovated to more easily support users' scene innovation.

The Nova COEX control system, with its three innovation dimensions of hard technology, soft insight and innovation, faces the future and helps the industry enter the large display market. The powerful combination of software and hardware of this system brings excellent display quality and subversive visual experience to the LED display; smooth control allows users to talk to the screen with ease; and powerful system integration capabilities make innovation easy and simple.

CX80 Pro, with single port 8K input, 5G transmission bandwidth, and CA50 receiving card, can realize 8K large screen and single device loading. Modular input subcards can meet users’ interface needs in different scenarios. Two 40G optical fiber channels make long-distance transmission and wiring for 8K large screens easier.

MX20, MX30, and MX40 Pro, combined with the 1G transmission bandwidth receiving card, achieve full scene coverage from 1080P to 4K, from 6 network ports to 20 network ports.

For 8K ultra-high-definition large-screen application scenarios, Long Shiqiang, director of R&D at UHD Innovation Center, pointed out that Nova Nebula’s single-port 8K LED outdoor large-screen control system solution is the core technology to support hundreds of cities and thousands of screens projects. A link that can connect the entire 8K live broadcast. Let the large-screen live broadcast be completed successfully. Single-port 8K technology and products also support HDR technology very well, achieving single-port 8K HLG, allowing 8K live broadcast to present the best effect and provide a visual feast for the audience.

In the LED movie screen market, Hollywood DCI certification has become a key indicator. Regarding DCI certification for LED movie screens, NanoLumens Vice President of R&D Jorge said frankly that DCI has very strict requirements and specifications for digital cinema production standards to ensure that movies can consistently present high-quality images to audiences, including the performance of display electronics and optical systems. Nova Nebula's control system provides good support in the design of software, hardware and image display technology.

VU CEO Tim Moore told reporters that one of VU's core values and the most important driving force is to make continuous progress in creative film and television production technology. Nova not only agrees with our vision, but also fully empowers us to help us realize this vision. COEX is an all-in-one control system with all the functions you need. It is the media between the computer game engine and the LED display. The new combined solution of CX80 Pro and VMP software is very powerful. CX80 Pro is the best control system we have ever used in film and television production. Its high-bandwidth data transmission capability can achieve frame insertion and full data sampling of HDR 4:4:4, and it can also achieve a high refresh rate of 240Hz at full 4K resolution. When used with Nova's new software platform VMP, it can also meet any custom input and output color management needs.

Regarding the increasingly popular virtual shooting technology, Yu Gang, co-founder of Time Matrix and deputy director of the movie "The Wandering Earth", pointed out that for virtual shooting, the first requirement for the display screen is the accurate restoration of color. Nova's 22bit+ and fine grayscale can increase the grayscale of LED display by 64 times, making the color information of digital scenes more delicate and accurate. Precise color gamut management and fine grayscale processing technology allow the display to accurately restore the effects of digital scenes built in advance, ensuring comprehensive image quality effects.

Zhonghe Vision xR Space Technical Director Zhao Dongyang also had deep feelings: In our virtual shooting system, Nova's latest virtual shooting screen-side control solution is adopted. The high-bandwidth transmission link can access video input sources with a maximum bit depth of 12 bits without affecting the resolution. Coupled with unique image quality processing technology, it can accurately restore the effects of asset scenes.

Zhu Liang, vice president of iQiyi and head of iQiyi’s Intelligent Production Department, pointed out that the 10-bit HDR signal output by the Nova Nebula control system allows the LED screen to maintain high-brightness details while achieving delicate dark transitions, accurately presenting the colors of digital scenes. Nova products are very stable and perform very stably in daily use and project execution.

By matching the camera and screen colors and applying the color conversion matrix, accurate color restoration effects can be obtained in the camera, and then displayed through the HDR monitor, achieving full-link high dynamic range signal processing, enhancing the director and director of photography's control over the final picture, and allowing tools to empower artistic creation.

The continuous improvement of LED display quality is critical to the development of the industry. In this regard, Zhu Bin, secretary-general of the LED Display Application Branch of the China Optics and Optoelectronics Industry Association and chief scientist of Nanjing Lopu Co., Ltd., pointed out that the image quality processing technology on the Nova Nebula control system has raised the audience's perception of image color to a new level.

The 12-bit input and 22-bit fine grayscale make the LED grayscale display more delicate and accurate, allowing the display to well restore the highlights and dark details of the movie; full grayscale correction ensures the display uniformity of the highlight and low gray areas of the display, avoiding poor image uniformity and picture distortion, allowing the display to show perfect color accuracy in different light and dark ranges; the higher dynamic range also allows HDR format movies to obtain more accurate color and brightness mapping, presenting bright colors, deep darkness and clean pure white to the audience, creating epoch-making movie quality.

Looking forward to the future, Wei Guifeng, general manager of Nova Nebula Control Systems, said frankly that Nova is committed to opening up a broader horizon with every step forward. The LED display industry is actively improving, especially Mini/Micro LED, which has many benefits. As technology innovation and demand drive, more diverse application scenarios will surely be activated, and a trillion-level display market is approaching.

As a member of the LED display industry, Nova will always work with customers and industry partners to continuously innovate and strive to bring better visual and interactive experiences to users. I believe that with the joint efforts of colleagues in the industry, Mini/Micro LED displays will be able to popularize this trillion-level display market.
