Edison's revenue increased significantly in April, with automotive and lighting business becoming the main driving force

LED manufacturer Edison Optoelectronics announced consolidated revenue of 230 million yuan (NT$, the same below) in April, showing a strong recovery, a significant increase of 27.27% from March, and an increase of 9.22% from the same period last year; the cumulative consolidated revenue from January to April this year was 802 million yuan, with an annual growth rate of 7.03%.

Edison said that the company maintains a relatively optimistic view on the overall operating outlook for this year, and the main growth momentum is expected to come from its two core businesses of automotive and lighting. The legal person estimates that the overall shipment volume for the whole year is expected to achieve an annual growth target of 20%. The automotive product line is expected to benefit from stable market demand and is expected to have an annual growth rate of 20% to 25%. The lighting product line is expected to have an annual growth rate of 15% to 20%.

From the perspective of order visibility, Edison's current lighting product order visibility is about 1.5 to 2 months, while the order visibility for automotive products is as long as about 1 year. The company expects that with the steady increase in shipments, the overall utilization rate is expected to remain at a certain level this year, which will provide support for the stability or moderate increase of gross profit margin.

In response to changes in the global supply chain and customers' localized production needs, Edison continues to deploy production capacity. In addition to setting up a European subsidiary and planning a simple assembly line, the new factory in Zhongli, Taiwan, purchased last year, is expected to be completed in the middle of this year and is targeted to be put into mass production as soon as the first quarter of next year, which is expected to add new momentum to future operations.
