On April 30, Baotou Steel Group reported that the "Rare Earth Optical Functional Materials Joint Laboratory" jointly established by Guochuang Rare Products, an incubator of the National Innovation Center, and Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology was officially unveiled. The two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in the field of rare earth optical functional materials. In the future, the two parties will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as rare earth luminescence, light conversion, and optical color development to promote the application of rare earth materials in LED, environmental protection and other fields.

Rare earth optical functional materials are one of the important directions in the research of rare earth materials. They are widely used in lighting, display, information detection, nuclear medicine imaging, laser industry, national defense and security and other fields. These materials have excellent optical properties due to the unique electronic structure of rare earth ions.

Data show that Guochuang Rare Products was incubated by the National Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center and is the first company in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region that can mass-produce rare earth photoconversion materials, luminescent materials and photochromic materials. Focusing on the three major areas of rare earth photoconversion, luminescence, and color development, the company continues to develop and produce new materials, and has developed terminal application products such as rare earth light-modified light guide plates and rare earth color ink screens. Its products are widely used in smart lighting, display technology, environmental protection and other fields, and can effectively reduce energy consumption, shield harmful blue light, and improve light conversion efficiency.
