At present, the park has gathered more than 100 upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises in the LED industry, and has introduced 39 MOCVD units, forming a relatively complete industrial chain of "epitaxial wafer production-chip preparation-packaging-downstream application product production".

Many LED companies have begun production

In addition to serving as the vice president of Zhejiang Jiangmen Chamber of Commerce, Lin Sheng'an is also the chairman of Jiangmen Songen Lighting Co., Ltd. He has been operating in the LED industry for many years and has a deep understanding of this industry. According to Lin Sheng'an, he initially started the lighting business in the ancient town. Later, Jiangmen leaders went to the ancient town to attract investment and introduced Jiangmen's superior investment environment. After consideration, he moved to Jianghai High-tech Zone for development. "Although the high-tech zone and the ancient town are only separated by a river, Jiangmen's land prices and production costs are lower than those in Zhongshan. Moreover, Zhongshan's LED industry has been saturated after long-term development, and Jiangmen still has a lot of room for development." Lin Sheng'an said. In addition, the high-tech zone’s stable public security and the enthusiasm of leaders and relevant departments were also important reasons for him to choose the high-tech zone.

"The development trend of LED in the two districts is good. The government has positioned LED as a key industry in the high-tech zone. In particular, the high-tech zone attaches great importance to the investment promotion of the LED industry. Currently, many large LED companies have begun to put into production. "Lin Sheng'an told reporters that Zhongshan and Jiangmen's LEDs account for 70% of the domestic market, and they also produce for the world. "The future of the LED industry is very bright, it depends on the road." Lin Sheng'an said that although the LED industry is booming, the level is uneven. He suggested that while focusing on the development of the LED industry, the government should provide timely guidance to achieve limited development rather than blind development. It should take into account all industries in attracting investment and avoid rushing in.

Small, medium and micro enterprises must innovate technology to break through

Lin Sheng'an also pointed out some problems existing in the current development of the LED industry. The first is the difficulty in recruiting workers, especially the shortage of general workers. "The LED market is still in Zhongshan now. There are many companies and there are many choices. Therefore, a lot of talents have gathered. We have to go there to recruit technical talents." Lin Sheng'an said that as for the shortage of general workers, Lin Sheng'an also made a comparison between Jiangmen and Zhongshan. In addition to transportation, employment concepts and other reasons, salary is also one of the major reasons. "Many large enterprises in Jiangmen have relatively formal and complete salaries and benefits, while many small enterprises in Zhongshan have less formal salaries and rarely purchase social security. Therefore, the wages received by ordinary workers in these small enterprises are higher than those in Jiangmen. In fact, the wages in Jiangmen are not lower than them."

In addition, financing difficulties are also a major problem for LED small, medium and micro enterprises. Lin Sheng'an admitted that as small, medium and micro enterprises, it is difficult for the government to enjoy the same industry subsidies and government support as large enterprises. However, financing difficulties do not exist in Wenzhou business district. As a native of Wenzhou, Lin Sheng'an is now the vice president of Zhejiang Jiangmen Chamber of Commerce. He revealed that Wenzhou businessmen can solve the problem of financing difficulties by borrowing privately. "We Wenzhou people attach great importance to integrity, solve financing problems with each other, and we also own properties."

Recruiting and financing are not the most important things in the LED industry at present. Enterprise transformation is the key. Lin Sheng'an believes that large LED companies have absolute innate advantages in terms of capital, technology, talent and government policies. If small, medium and micro enterprises do not realize transformation and have self-innovation technology, they can only follow large companies and be easily swallowed up by the turbulent market. Lin Sheng'an believes that if LED small, medium and micro enterprises want to develop, they must have a way to win. "Transformation, innovation and upgrading are undoubtedly the way out. This is also the question of how to take the road I mentioned above. If you know how to take the road, you will move towards a bright future, otherwise you are likely to walk into a dark alley with no road."
