Jiangsu Yannan negotiates Micro LED project with tetos and Xinghengli Semiconductor

Recently, Yuan Yongjun, deputy director of the Yannan District Management Committee and member of the Party Working Committee of Jiangsu Yannan District, received Ahn Woo Young, president of South Korea's tetos company, and Wang Lei, founder of Suzhou Xinghengli Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinghengli Semiconductor"), and their delegation came to Yannan for inspection and negotiation. The two parties had in-depth communication on the cooperation plan of "Micro LED side wiring 3D equipment R&D and manufacturing project".

According to data, Xinghengli Semiconductor is an innovative technology enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, and sales of semiconductor equipment and components. The company's equipment includes wafer cutting machines, grinding machines, DRAM ATE TEST, semiconductor display Probe Units, AOI inspection equipment, semiconductor material sales and fixtures, etc.

The Korean Tetos Company was established in 2010 and is engaged in the development of electromagnetic shielding films, weldable and sputtering equipment for semiconductor packaging. It is a venture capital company that independently develops technology and has been certified by the Korean Innobiz Small and Medium Enterprises Innovation Technology Association.

Tetos developed a three-dimensional sprint equipment as early as 2020, which can manufacture three-layer (seed layer, conductive layer and protective layer) glass substrates in a vacuum at one time, greatly simplifying the manufacturing process. The device automatically pre-processes and places substrates in a vacuum, eliminating the need for multiple steps to release and create a vacuum, thereby increasing production speeds by up to six times.

In February this year, Tetos announced the development of side wiring equipment for Micro LED displays that greatly improves production speed. This device forms a circuit on the side of the substrate during the process of connecting both sides of the glass substrate. At the same time, Tetos said it will supply new equipment to BOE in September at a price of 3 billion won per unit. It is reported that BOE plans to use Tetos equipment to manufacture Micro LED displays for smart watches and virtual reality (VR) devices.

Previously, tetos has also supplied "LED cells" to Samsung Electronics' "Micro LED TVs" and has obtained a mass production license from Samsung Electronics.
