Jinghe and Qianzhao have reached a cooperation to jointly develop MicroLED automotive lighting, optical interconnection and other applications

On May 29, Xiamen Qianzhao Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Jinghe Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two parties decided to establish a long-term and stable strategic cooperation relationship with in-depth technology adaptation, safe and controllable supply chain around Micro LED light-emitting chips in the fields of automotive lighting and optical interconnection.


Judging from their respective technological accumulations, both companies have formed their own advantages in the field of cooperation.

Jinghe Optoelectronics has been deeply involved in the automotive LED lighting field for a long time. In recent years, it has been transforming from a traditional automotive light module supplier to a semiconductor light source chip company. Its self-developed "Hua Xin No. 1" chip has entered the mass production sprint stage. The product has 40,000 pixels, can achieve a system luminous flux of more than 2,500 lumens at 50 watts of power consumption, and has a luminous efficiency of more than 50 lumens per watt at a 40 micron spacing. It is currently a car-grade Micro LED digital lighting chip with leading mass production indicators.

In order to support the mass production of chips, Jinghe Optoelectronics has launched a digital light source chip advanced packaging and testing base project in Lingang, Shanghai. It plans to produce 1.2 million Micro LED light source chips and 600,000 sets of car lighting modules annually. It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

In addition, Jinghe Optoelectronics has a complete technical system in the fields of CMOS driver chip design, high-power Micro LED advanced packaging technology and automotive lighting module controllers. It has been equipped with more than 10 domestic OEMs for more than 30 models, with a cumulative installed volume of millions of units.

Qianzhao Optoelectronics, as a veteran enterprise in the field of domestic LED chips, has deep accumulation in upstream epitaxy and chip manufacturing. The company has proactively laid out the MLED cutting-edge track earlier, and has mastered the core technology of the entire chain from Micro LED epitaxial growth to chip research and development, and has a mature and stable technical system and large-scale mass production capabilities.

According to this cooperation agreement, Qianzhao Optoelectronics will give full play to its upstream core technology and large-scale production capacity advantages to provide a stable and high-quality supply of epitaxial wafers and light-emitting chips for the production of Jinghe Optoelectronics' "Huaxin No. 1" chip.

Jinghe Optoelectronics stated that the cooperation between the two parties will help break down the technical barriers in the entire chain from epitaxial growth, chip design to packaging modules, and provide guarantee for high reliability, high yield and large-scale mass production of automotive grade applications.

It is worth noting that the two parties will also focus on the application field of Micro LED optical interconnection in the future.

It is reported that Jinghe Optoelectronics’ automotive-grade Micro LED has much higher requirements for reliability, high temperature resistance, lifespan and other indicators than commercial standards, so it can be quickly migrated to data center optical interconnection scenarios to achieve commercial verification.

Currently, Jinghe Optoelectronics is building an advanced automotive-grade Micro LED packaging mass production line. Its core process is highly homologous with the Micro LED light engine chip packaging process. The company can achieve "one production line, dual output", significantly shortening the product development cycle and reducing industrialization risks.

In the field of optical communication business, Qianzhao Optoelectronics has achieved phased results in its high-speed chip research and development and industrialization process. Currently, the company's 10G and 25G VCSEL optical communication chips have completed sample delivery and are in the customer verification stage. It is expected that formal orders will be formed and delivered in 2026.

At the same time, Qianzhao Optoelectronics has also carried out in-depth collaboration with the optical module company under Hisense Group to jointly conquer key optical chip technologies such as VCSEL and Micro LED. In response to the commercial demand for CPO short-distance optical interconnection, Qianzhao Optoelectronics has launched a high-speed demo prototype to verify the core performance.

In the future, the cooperation between Jinghe Optoelectronics and Qianzhao Optoelectronics is expected to accelerate the maturity and commercial development of Micro LED optical interconnection technology.
