It is reported that Konka Technology Manufacturing Project includes Konka Semiconductor's two core main business projects: new display and consumer electronics, and plans to build three production lines for commercial display modules, household large-screen display modules, and large-size vehicle backlight modules.
This project will make full use of Konka’s central enterprise brand advantages and scale advantages to deeply explore the subdivision of household appliances, create an innovative industrial consortium with the household appliance industry as the core, and promote Ji’an’s electronic information industry to gather strength and strengthen the chain.
It is understood that since 2023, Konka has strategically optimized its business structure, exited non-core industrial and trade and environmental protection businesses, and focused on its two main businesses of consumer electronics and semiconductors. In the field of consumer electronics, Konka has adjusted its product structure and sales strategy for color TVs, white goods and other products, while its semiconductor business has made layouts in the storage and optoelectronics fields.
Among them, Konka mainly conducts research and development of Micro LED related products in the optoelectronic field. Its subsidiary Chongqing Konka Optoelectronics focuses on the Mini/Micro LED field, including LED epitaxial wafer production, chip manufacturing, backplane design,Full industry chain technology and product layout for mass transfer, terminal systems and other application solutions.
In terms of technological innovation, Konka has achieved certain results in the field of Mini/Micro LED technology, especially in hybrid mass transfer technology. Chongqing Konka Optoelectronics has achieved a monochrome transfer repair yield of 99.999%. In addition, Kangyuan Semiconductor’s patent for “a fully bonded structure for Mini LED and Micro LED direct display applications” entered the authorization stage in June this year.
In order to further enhance the research and development capabilities of Micro LED projects, Konka has also introduced more than a hundred industry technical talents.
In terms of product innovation, Konka launched the A8/A8 Pro Sky Mirror Mini LED AI TV in May, of which the 110-inch A8 Pro model has 20,736 partitions. The products are all equipped with the self-developed AI ERA human-sensing large model ecological platform. The AI image large model can be intelligently optimized based on massive data, optimizing low-resolution content to ultra-high-definition content close to 4K.
In terms of industrial transformation, Konka’s Micro LED chips and mass transfer technology have begun to send samples to many customers and achieve small-volume sales. At the same time, the Mini LED direct display segment focuses on reducing costs, expanding sales channels for major customers, and cooperating with engineering customers, and has developed more than 10 customers in total.
In terms of performance, Konka 2023Annual revenue was 17.849 billion yuan, of which revenue from the semiconductor business was 3.397 billion yuan. In the first half of 2024, Konka's semiconductor business is still in the early stages of industrialization and has not yet achieved large-scale and profitable output.
