Korean OLED equipment company wins order from BOE

On February 19, Avaco announced that it had signed a supply contract with China’s BOE for the evaporation system for mass production of OLED displays. The contract period is until December 21, 2027, and the contract amount has not been disclosed due to commercial secrets.

According to analysis, this order corresponds to BOE’s second-phase investment in 8.6-generation OLED. BOE is building a production base in Chengdu with a monthly production capacity of 32,000 pieces of 8.6-generation OLED glass substrates. The base is being constructed in two phases, with each phase having a monthly production capacity of 16,000 pieces. This order is part of the second phase of investment.

Previously, Avaco had received a 290 billion won OLED evaporation system order from BOE in June 2024 and completed the supply. It is reported that Avaco's equipment can protect masks and substrates during OLED mass production and ensure stable connection of the production process. It precisely controls the microscopic position of the substrate and maintains stable temperature, humidity and vacuum environments to minimize contact with foreign objects.

The report pointed out that driven by the growing demand for 8.6-generation OLED equipment, Avaco achieved its highest performance since the company was founded last year, with sales reaching 398.1 billion won and operating profit reaching 35.6 billion won.
