LED packaging manufacturers join forces with chip manufacturers to respond to competition rationally

Since 2011, the LED industry has experienced rapid investment, short-term structural excess, and fierce competition in various industrial chain links. Production capacity scale and market share are converging into a small number of companies with advanced technology, high product cost-effectiveness, and good channels and management.
Although packaging companies are being squeezed by upstream and downstream companies and facing high direct investment risks, they are using a strategic development perspective to extend the industrial chain and seek new breakthroughs through strategic cooperation with strong upstream suppliers and downstream customers. Among them, forming long-term strategic partners with epitaxial chip manufacturers with advanced technology, good management, and low cost is an effective way for packaging companies to integrate resources and stabilize existing market shares. Starting this year, not only domestic LED packaging manufacturers use domestically produced chips, domestic LED application companies also accept a large number of cost-effective domestic devices, which greatly boosts the demand for the packaging market.
In a situation where both supply and sales are booming, in order to avoid chip shortages, packaging companies have signed supply and demand agreements with chip companies to ensure sufficient and stable supply and at the same time obtain chips with higher cost performance. Among them, Hongli Optoelectronics, Jufei Optoelectronics, and Nationstar Optoelectronics respectively signed strategic cooperation agreements with Sanan Optoelectronics and planned to purchase a total of 730 million yuan of LED chips from Sanan Optoelectronics within one year. In addition, Mulinsen signed a two-year chip purchase contract of 400 million yuan with Aoyang Shunchang, and Changfang Semiconductor signed a chip purchase contract of 52.65 million yuan with Suzhou Xinnajing.
The LED industry is developing rapidly. Faced with the huge market cake, it is the expectation of every enterprise to get a share of the pie. Whether it is to expand territory or to solidify defense, in the tide of competition in the market, not only a forward-looking vision is required, but also prudent planning. The right time, right place and right people
are indispensable.
Looking at the current resource integration of enterprises, it can be seen that the investment and expansion of my country's LED industry is becoming increasingly rational, the strategies and methods are more diversified, and the sunrise industry has a mature mentality.
