The incident occurred at Jinpeng 99 City Plaza on Longpan Avenue. According to witnesses at the scene, ambulances and fire trucks rushed to the scene for rescue shortly after the incident.

On the day of the accident, the hotel issued an announcement stating that the awning at the entrance of the hotel collapsed. The drama tells us that there is a small single- and double-color LED door screen at the front of the awning at the hotel entrance. It was the steel structure of the awning that caused the accident, not the fall of the large LED screen reported in the news.
