More and more LED display companies are rushing to enter the field of small spacing, which has also caused the market scale of small spacing to expand rapidly. Small spacing has become an indispensable driving force for industry growth.
With its inherent advantages - high resolution, rich display effects, natural and true colors, display area that can be "customized" and seamlessly spliced, small spacing has been widely used in the engineering display application market and has begun to emerge in the commercial market. In the next step, small spacing needs to continue to improve performance and reliability, and reduce costs, so that it can compete with products such as LCD liquid crystal and DLP rear projection in the indoor large-screen splicing market.
In fact, the improvement of small-pitch performance and reliability (such as the research and development and mass production of P0.7 and smaller dot-pitch products, higher grayscale and refresh rate at low brightness, and lamp bead failure rate moving from 5ppm to 1ppm) and cost reduction are a systematic project and an arduous task. It requires the cooperation of screen manufacturers, upstream and peripheral supporting manufacturers, and collaborative innovation of the entire industry chain to complete.
For example, when it comes to small spacing, we will immediately think of "low brightness, high gray and high brush", but as far as the current technology is concerned, this is just a wish, and it is also a goal that the entire industry needs to work together. To achieve this goal, driver IC will occupy a dominant position, but it must be completed through cooperation with the control system and lamp beads.
For improving the reliability of small spacing, there are more and more complex factors involved. For lamp bead manufacturers, it is necessary to select qualified materials and improve the process and structure of light-emitting tubes; for screen manufacturers, it is necessary to improve the circuit design of PCB boards and the production process of small spacing. That is to say, screen manufacturers need to collaborate and innovate with upstream lamp bead manufacturers to effectively improve the reliability of small-pitch products.
As the dot pitch of small pitches becomes smaller and smaller, in order to reduce the design complexity of the application-side PCB circuit board, the driver IC must be more integrated, but the integration of the driver IC alone cannot guarantee the reliability of the module. At the same time, for module manufacturers, whether SMT processing technology and management and control capabilities meet the accuracy requirements of miniaturization and multi-pin ICs is also a very critical link.
There is no doubt about the importance of innovation. For the domestic LED display industry, continued and in-depth development in the future still needs to be promoted by continuous innovation. But sometimes innovation in just one link cannot solve all problems. Just like the above-mentioned improvement of small-pitch gray scale and refresh rate under low brightness, if only the driver IC completes a certain innovation without follow-up cooperation from the collaborative innovation of the control system, then the ideal improvement effect may not be achieved. Therefore, the domestic LED display industry not only needs innovation, but also requires collaborative innovation among the upstream, midstream, downstream and peripheral supporting manufacturers of LED displays that are independent and interrelated. Only in this way can my country's LED display industry develop faster and better.
