Mini LED backlight LCD TV shipments will surpass OLED TV in 2025

Omdia analysts said: "The large and super-large size of LCD TVs and the installation of Mini LED Backlight will pose a long-term threat to OLED TV in the high-end flat-panel TV market. At present, other new display technologies such as Micro LED or near-eye display or light field display have no chance to replace LCD in the field of TV applications. Long-term LCD TV Panels are expected to continue to be in tight supply in terms of area and large size; therefore, under this current situation, panel manufacturers are expanding their production capacity, whether through process optimization of existing factories or adding LCD production capacity through acquisitions. In particular, TFT LCD panel manufacturers in mainland China are more active in expanding production capacity, which also represents their long-term leadership in the TV panel market.”
