Minwei Technology's MiniLED new generation printed circuit board project starts construction

According to "Channgle District Media Center", on April 24, a video link event for the start of major projects in the second quarter of 2025 was held in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. Changle District has 17 major projects listed as being started in the city, including the new generation printed circuit board project for Mini LED of Minwei Technology Co., Ltd.

Fujian Minwei Technology Co., Ltd. was established on June 19, 1994 with a registered capital of 42.6 million yuan. It was listed on the New Third Board of the National Equities Exchange and Quotations in 2017. Its business scope includes research and development, production of various types of single, double-sided, multi-layer, flexible circuit boards and assembly, self-operation and agency for the import and export of various commodities and technologies.

Since the beginning of this year, the Mini LED industry has been moving frequently, with multiple major projects accelerating in different aspects.

In the upstream chip field, companies are adjusting their strategies to adapt to industry needs. Qianzhao Optoelectronics issued an announcement on March 26, announcing a change in the direction of investment projects, from the original "VCSEL, high-end LED chips and other semiconductor R&D and production projects" to focusing more on "Mini/Micro display epitaxial wafers, chips and other high-end chip R&D and production".

In terms of specific manufacturing projects, the construction of midstream and downstream projects is also proceeding in an orderly manner. Yongsheng Optoelectronics' Mini LED display backlight and screen project with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan is currently under construction in the Jingjiang Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. The main body is expected to be capped in June 2025, and mass production is planned to be achieved in the first quarter of 2026, which will provide important Mini LED display product production capacity for the market.

On the equipment side, China Micro Semiconductor’s micro-processing equipment R&D center project held a signing event in Nanchang on April 7. It is reported that AMEC will expand its R&D investment in Nanchang through the center, focusing on promoting the performance improvement of MOCVD equipment for Mini LED and the application and promotion of MOCVD equipment for Micro LED.

As a display panel company, Huike has been rapidly promoting the construction of Mini LED production capacity since the beginning of 2025. Its Huike Mini LED backlight/direct display module and complete machine project with a total investment of 9 billion yuan started in Liuyang, Hunan Province in early February. Then on February 13, the first phase of the Mianyang Huike Mini LED project with a total investment of 5 billion yuan also held a groundbreaking ceremony in Mianyang.
