Novision Technology launches mass-production-level single-chip full-color Micro-LED microdisplay chip

Northview Technology recently launched a mass-production-level single-chip full-color XGA Micro-LED microdisplay chip. The chip is based on the Northview WLVSPTM technology platform (wafer-level vertical stacked pixels, referred to as VSP), which stacks and integrates RGB three primary color compounds and a silicon-based CMOS driver backplane in the vertical direction. The single-chip full-color microdisplay chip launched this time is based on the latest technology of Novi VSP, which has achieved a qualitative leap in terms of display uniformity and brightness.

The new VSP single-chip full-color chip has a peak brightness of more than 500,000 nits. It is the currently known Micro-LED three-primary color single-chip full-color micro-display chip with the highest brightness and the best display effect.

In addition to pursuing improvements in chip-level technical indicators, Novi Technology pays more attention to the improvement of chip application system indicators. Especially when the power consumption and heat dissipation of wearable devices are limited, it must focus on improving the efficiency of low-power application systems. By improving optical coupling efficiency through optical collimation, NovoS VSP series products can achieve an optical machine and waveguide brightness that is more than 2 times higher than existing solutions.

Single-screen full-color is the ultimate challenge for Micro-LED micro-display. It is the direction that major chip manufacturers in the industry invest heavily in research and development. Both the mirrored light solution and the quantum dot solution have major limitations. The launch of Nostalgia VSP full-color microdisplay chip has opened a new chapter in the industry and will accelerate the commercialization process of global Micro-LED microdisplay colorization.

Northview Technology expects to mass-produce single-chip full-color microdisplay chips in 2025, and welcomes upstream and downstream partners to jointly promote the large-scale application of Micro-LED microdisplay chips in terminals.
