According to foreign media reports, the 400-foot-tall observation wheel-Orlando Eye was officially lit up on Thursday night!
A total of about 64,000 LEDs are installed on this observation wheel. The lighting system uses an RGB system, offering a variety of color options to suit any special occasion or festival. In the future, the Eye of Orlando, with its white appearance, can produce rainbow-like color effects.
LED energy consumption is 92.7% lower than traditional light bulbs, a spokesman for Merlin Entertainments, the world's second largest amusement attraction operator, said.
The Orlando Eye is an observation-style Ferris wheel located in the center of International Drive. It has 30 fully enclosed air-conditioned cabins. Each cabin can accommodate 15 guests and can be enjoyed for a 20-minute drive. From the air, you can have a panoramic view of Orlando. You can see the Orlando horizon, the high-rise buildings in downtown Orlando, various theme parks, lakes, and forests. If you catch a clear sky, you can see the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral.
In addition, it is reported that Nick Wallenda, the first tightrope walker in the United States, announced that he will challenge the "Orlando Eye" Ferris wheel in Florida that is about to be put into operation on April 29. It is reported that Nick will climb the 121-meter-high "Orlando Eye" and is expected to walk the entire distance along the outer edge of the rotating Ferris wheel without any protective measures.
