Taiwanese LED manufacturers suffered many losses in Q2, but Everlight made outstanding profits
Most Taiwanese LED manufacturers were still in the red in the second quarter. Everlight’s profits were outstanding. Even with the impact of foreign exchange losses, the net profit per share still reached 1.02 yuan (NT$, the same below), becoming the Taiwanese LED component factory’s profit per share in the last quarter. Optoelectronics benefited from the continued increase in orders from major German customers and non-industry income, with a single-quarter net profit of 0.5 yuan per share, ranking second.
LED upstream epitaxial manufacturers Jingdian and New Century both suffered losses in the second quarter. Jingdian had a net loss per share of 1.64 yuan in a single quarter, and New Century had a net loss of 1.37 yuan per share. Guanghong, which only had share capital and a small business scale, made a small profit of 0.04 yuan per share in a single quarter.
Everlight performed relatively well in the second quarter. The net profit after tax for the single quarter was 446 million yuan, which was the same as the first quarter, but grew 41% over the same period last year, and the net profit per share was 1.02 yuan. In the first half of the year, the net profit after tax was 906 million yuan, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year, and the net profit per share was 2.04 yuan. It is not only the most outstanding performance among Taiwanese LED packaging factories, but also the profit per share king of Taiwanese LED component factories.
