The first 16-meter VLED LED cinema in East China lands in Xuzhou

On March 6, 2025, the first 4K 16-meter VLED LED cinema in East China officially landed at Xuzhou Suning Cinema Pengcheng Plaza store, and a lighting ceremony was held.

VLED LED is an LED movie screen product of China Film Optoelectronics. The product was first released on June 13, 2023, and was officially unveiled at an event in Shanghai. VLED LED Cinema aims to provide efficient projection solutions for cinemas.

The launch in Xuzhou marks the further expansion of VLED LED cinema. In January this year, the first 4K 20-meter VLED LED cinema in East China was put into use at Hefei Platinum Elephant Cinema; the first VLED LED movie screen in southern Zhejiang was successfully lit in Hall 2 of Wenzhou Film Bailu Cinema Europe City Store; the VLED cinema at Qinghai Xining Shanghai Film International Cinema has also officially opened.

At present, China Film Guangfeng's VLED product family has covered 8-meter, 10-meter, 14-meter, 16-meter and 20-meter screens, and VLED LED movie screens have been installed in more than 20 theaters in China.

According to TrendForce’s analysis, the global high-end cinema screen market has approximately 30,000 units, while the penetration rate of LED cinema screens is only 0.5%. This market is The potential is huge. In addition to China Film Optoelectronics, China Film Technology, Leyard, Unilumin Technology and other companies are also actively deploying in this field.

The LED movie screen product CINITY LED launched by China Film Technology and Alto Electronics supports 4K resolution and 120-frame high-format playback. The system complies with the DCI-P3 color gamut standard. The maximum brightness can reach 87fL in 2D mode, and the maximum brightness for 3D single-eye projection is 17fL.

In December last year, Leyard launched the world's first Micro LED movie screen. The product was officially lit up at the Xiaobailou Cinema of Taihang State Guesthouse in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and became the industry's first Micro LED movie screen to pass DCI certification.

On December 30 of the same year, the country's first full-height frame LED cinema, Huaxia Film Center, was completed in Beichenhui Commercial Center, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is equipped with 8 standard theaters and 8 VIP high-frame LED theaters.

Unilumin Technology's UCine LED display is the first LED movie screen product in China to obtain Hollywood DCI certification. The company is also continuing to optimize and upgrade LE D movie screen performance, innovatively developed products and solutions such as immersive cinemas and the world's first sound-transparent screen, and plans to launch a 3.8-meter home theater screen.

Currently, Unilumin Technology's UCINE LED movie screens have been put into use in theaters in Harbin, Beijing, Xinjiang, Chengdu, Sanya, Nanjing, Quzhou and other places. Overseas markets are also constantly expanding. They have been successfully launched in Los Angeles, Moscow, Eastern Europe and other places. It is expected to open a new cinema in Slovenia in March this year.
