The first Shanghai International Lighting Exhibition will be held from September 3 to 5.

The famous sister exhibition of the Guangzhou International Lighting Fair, organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., successfully gathered more than 200 exhibitors this year with an exhibition area of more than 15,000 square meters.

The 2014 exhibition will present a comprehensive range of lighting products and solutions to the industry, including outdoor, commercial and household lighting applications, as well as electric lighting accessories and LED technology. It is expected to attract many project buyers including developers, contractors, engineers, designers and dealers.

The new platform helps the industry explore engineering projects and green lighting business opportunities in East China

Benefiting from the government's vigorous promotion of green policies, markets such as Central China and East China are flocking to energy-saving and smart lighting technologies. As a brand new platform, the Shanghai International Lighting Exhibition will bring innovative sustainable lighting solutions to the engineering project industry in response to relevant needs. For example, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province will vigorously promote LED lighting products to replace the original 134,000 street lamps. In Shanghai, its landmark project, the Dalian Road Tunnel, also plans to use LED lighting and wireless dimming systems to reduce power consumption by 60% and is estimated to save US$85,000 (approximately RMB 522,758) per year. Such projects bring huge business opportunities to lighting product suppliers.

The industry's leading brand Midea Lighting is an exhibitor at this exhibition. Mr. Wang Qingzao, the company's brand manager, is optimistic about market development and is looking forward to participating in the exhibition. He said: "East China is one of the most important and competitive markets for the lighting industry. Especially in recent years, engineering projects in this region have developed rapidly, making it even more valuable. The purpose of our participation in this exhibition is to promote our new commercial and household LED lighting products. We believe this platform will help the company further explore the East China market."

Another exhibitor at the exhibition, Ms. Chen Shanshan, director and deputy general manager of the marketing department of Shanghai Dinghui Technology Co., Ltd., had the same view. She said: "The East China market is quite mature, with a large number of potential mid- to high-end buyers, who have great demand for customized, high-quality products. In order to meet market needs, we will display COB packaging products at the Shanghai exhibition. We also hope to provide customers in East China with a reliable support system through the exhibition and establish closer cooperative relationships with them."

Another highlight of the exhibition is the high-end seminars held at the same time, which will focus on three major areas: technology, design and marketing channels. In terms of technology, the organizer will hold a seminar on LED smart lighting and control technology; in terms of design, there will be the 2014 Aladdin Lighting Forum to deconstruct the design trends of smart lighting; as for activities related to marketing channels, there will be the 2014 Aladdin E-commerce Forum to allow participants to learn more about promotion strategies and channels.

A number of exhibitions and conferences were held simultaneously to build a one-stop procurement platform for intelligent green building solutions.

The Shanghai International Lighting Exhibition will be held concurrently with three other major technology exhibitions and conferences, including the "Shanghai International Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Urban Construction Equipment and Technology Exhibition", "Shanghai International Intelligent Building Exhibition" and "China International Photovoltaic Building Forum and Exhibition", jointly building a smart green building platform to provide buyers with innovative lighting solutions, HVAC, smart homes, integrated solar building products and other efficient energy-saving technologies and solutions to improve users' overall quality of life. This platform can also promote the establishment of partnerships between lighting manufacturers and smart building manufacturers to jointly explore more business opportunities.
