"The most memorable thing is Hangzhou" - LED display falls out of favor again

The Hangzhou G20 Summit has ended, but the unique performances at the meeting still leave a beautiful "shadow" in people's minds. The performances include symphony, dance drama, Yue opera, guqin and cello ensemble, etc., which are a beautiful combination of Chinese and Western styles. The most dazzling one is one of the welcome performances, "The Most Reminiscent of Hangzhou", which perfectly reproduces the three-dimensional aerial illusion, allowing the illusion to interact perfectly with the performers to complete the performance, which shocked the world in just a few dozen minutes. However, in such a dazzling event, the proud LEDs of the past are almost nowhere to be seen. Only CCTV live broadcast is the only LED point light source.
The silent replacement of holographic projection technology has made the LED display industry, which has always been closely related to major conferences and events, have to feel disappointed. In addition to the disappointment, it has to recognize the fact that LED is not omnipotent. At least it is now rampantly provoked by projection technology! Projection technology has seized the glory of the Rio Olympics, and now it has come to seize the glory of the G20 Summit. It is really step by step and merciless.
Some people will fight against LED, why doesn’t LED resist? Obviously LED is the leader in the display industry! Yes, LED has led thousands of troops to enter various large-scale projects such as the Beijing Olympics and the London Olympics, but there is no permanent boss in the market, only "brothers" who always want to be the boss. This "falling out of favor" is not unreasonable. Holographic projection technology breaks through the limitations of sound, light and electricity, and can perfectly combine reality and fantasy. It uses "naked-eye" 3D and light three-dimensional expressions to shout to the world: I am the king of the World! At the same time, I am also clamoring to the LED display industry: I told the event that it should be exposed to rain and dew equally, but your products are no longer refreshing and amazing, and the event only favors me.
Faced with such clamor, how should the LED display industry regain its former glory, and how should it explore its own advantages and potential? First of all, from the perspective of the VR/AR industry chain, LED displays have always had incomparable advantages such as high resolution, seamless splicing, natural and realistic display effects, flexible appearance, and touch displays. In theory, they will definitely bring first-class visual enjoyment to the audience. Secondly, as a terminal display product, it can be fully integrated with the VR technology industry in terms of experience interaction, media, advertising, education, theaters, etc. However, the reliability of small spacing needs to be improved urgently. VR devices have very strict requirements for image quality. To achieve no image retention, small spacing requires more efforts. Finally, in terms of price, small spacing needs to create a higher cost performance in order to capture market share and stay ahead in the display industry.
Looking back in recent years, in AR/VR, new display methods represented by 3D and projection technology have attracted a lot of attention from investment institutions in the industry and have been widely used in various fields such as game engines, civilian entertainment, industrial design, and military training. The LED display industry has not done enough in the technological exploration of VR/AR. Although some LED companies have realized that they need to deploy in VR/AR, taking Lianchuang Optoelectronics as an example, it released an asset acquisition plan on the evening of May 20, 2016. It will add holographic multimedia interactive digital display services and mobile development and operation business, aiming to achieve diversified development. However, there are no successful cases. The LED display industry has a long road to innovation and development.
