There are more than 1,500 LED companies, and Jiangmen’s industrial chain has initially taken shape.

Jiangmen will prepare to build an LED quality and safety demonstration zone, and companies stationed in the demonstration zone are expected to have priority in ordering from Qatar through the Guangbohui platform. Last Friday, the Jiangmen LED Lighting Product Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone Work Promotion Meeting was held at the Jiangmen Lighting Electrical Appliances Association.

Will apply for a national demonstration zone

In recent years, some developed countries and regions have successively raised the import threshold of LED lamps and put forward higher and more stringent requirements in terms of energy conservation and environmental protection, performance, safety, size, etc. Domestic LED lighting products are facing quality and technical challenges. Double test, in order to ensure the quality of Jiangmen's LED export products and allow Jiangmen's manufacturing to go abroad smoothly, the Jiangmen Municipal Government plans to establish an LED quality and safety demonstration zone within this year, aiming to further enhance the quality awareness, quality control capabilities and customs clearance facilitation level of export enterprises, and to jointly cultivate new export competitive advantages of quality, technology, brand and service.

The meeting revealed that a preparatory group has been established and more than 50 companies have submitted applications. In order to enhance the regional brand effect of Jiangmen City's LED manufacturing industry and the brand value and popularity of enterprises in the area, Jiangmen LED Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone will apply for a national-level demonstration zone, and will enjoy more policy preferences after the application is successful. The preparatory team also said that the demonstration zone will cultivate two or three leading benchmark companies, so that such companies will be greatly improved in new product development, innovation, brand building, participation in standard research and development, and quality management. In addition, these companies can benefit from priority in LED testing, technical problems, and understanding of foreign technical trade measures.

Enterprises entering the zone are expected to receive orders first

Earlier, Guangbohui, an LED service platform located in the High-tech Zone, reached an agreement with relevant parties in Qatar to become the only lighting procurement and supply service provider designated by the Qatar Royal 8D Group in China. The supply period is as long as 10 years, and the purchase amount is optimistically expected to reach up to 20 billion US dollars. Guo Xiu, managing director of Guangbohui, said at the meeting that companies stationed in the LED quality and safety demonstration zone will have priority in obtaining Qatar lighting procurement and supply qualifications through the Guangbohui service platform. At the same time, it is planned to establish a special pavilion for the LED lighting product quality and safety demonstration zone in Guangbohui to give priority to the enterprises settled in the pavilion to integrate industrial resources and obtain foreign orders.

According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 1,500 companies engaged in LED production in Jiangmen, and an integrated industrial chain of R&D, production and sales has initially been formed.
