According to the National Standard Information Public Service Platform, two lighting-related national standards - GB/T 24823-2024 "Performance Specification for LED Modules for General Lighting" and GB/T 44473-2024 "Performance Specification for LED Lamps, LED Lamps and LED Modules for Plant Lighting" will be officially implemented on June 1, 2025.
GB/T 24823-2024 "Performance Specification for LED Modules for General Lighting"
GB/T 24823-2024 "Performance Specification for LED Modules for General Lighting" standard was released on November 28, 2024, and will be officially implemented on June 1, 2025.
This standard applies to all types of indoor and outdoor general lighting LED modules, including integrated, built-in and independent LED modules in various installation forms, as well as integrated, semi-integrated and non-integrated AC and DC power supply LED modules.
Compared with the current first version of the standard (GB/T 24823-2017), in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the new standard focuses on increasing the tolerance range requirements for claimed light efficacy; at the same time, the test methods for color rendering index, electrical properties, and photometric properties have been modified to ensure that the test results are more in line with actual application needs; the life provisions of the gradual attenuation of light output, examples of life measurement values, and related data usage requirements have also been optimized to make the standard more in line with actual needs.
The main contents of this standard include: in the electrical parameters part, the initial power of the LED module shall not exceed the rated power by 10%; the displacement coefficient of the integrated LED module shall not be lower than the nominal value 0.05.
In the light output part, the initial luminous flux of the LED module shall not be less than 10% of the rated value; the light intensity distribution shall be consistent with the manufacturer's declaration; for the directionally distributed LED module, the initial peak light intensity shall not be lower than 75% of the rated value, and the deviation of the beam angle from the rated value shall not exceed 25% of the rated value; the light efficiency shall not be lower than 90% of the rated value declared by the manufacturer or seller.
In terms of color properties, color coordinate measurements (including initial values
and maintenance value) meets one of the four categories of regulations; the measured value of the correlated color temperature does not exceed the color temperature range declared by the manufacturer or seller; the color rendering index is not lower than the rated value minus 3.
In addition, the luminous flux maintenance rate of the LED module is maintained at 70%-90% during the test time specified in the standard. And the LED module can pass durability tests such as temperature cycle test, switching test, accelerated life test and so on.
GB/T 44473-2024 "Performance Specifications for LED Lamps, LED Luminaires and LED Modules for Plant Lighting"
The GB/T 44473-2024 "Performance Specification for LED Lamps, LED Lamps and LED Modules for Plant Lighting" standard was released on November 28, 2024, and will be officially implemented on June 1, 2025.
This standard specifies the requirements for the identification, electrical parameters, optical radiation parameters, environmental characteristics, size, quality and structure of LED lamps, LED lamps and LED modules for plant lighting, and provides corresponding test methods. LED lamps, LED modules and LED lamps with a rated voltage not exceeding DC 1500V or AC 1000V suitable for full artificial light or artificial supplementary light ambient plant lighting.
The main content of the standard includes: clarifying that the deviation between the initial power of plant lighting products and the rated power does not exceed 10%; adjusting the dimming product to the maximum light output state when measuring the displacement coefficient; the initial photon flux of plant lighting products should not be more than 10% lower than the rated value, and the initial photon flux efficiency should not be lower than the rated value; test and report the actual photon intensity distribution of the product and the photon irradiance at typical installation heights; LED lights should comply with temperature cycle tests, switch tests, and high temperature and high humidity test requirements.
It is reported that after the implementation of the new standard, it can standardize the performance of LED products for plant lighting, reduce quality differences, promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry, and provide technical support for modern agriculture and indoor plant cultivation.
