In recent years, East Lake High-tech Zone has accelerated the construction of an "optical core screen terminal network" industrial cluster with the five major industries of optoelectronic information, chips, new displays, smart terminals, and the Internet as its core, and has comprehensively expanded strategic emerging industries such as life and health. With the policy guidance and industrial cluster advantages of the East Lake High-tech Zone, the Optics Valley new display industry R&D and production base project came into being and became an important starting point to promote high-quality regional development.
It is reported that the Wuhan Optics Valley new display industry R&D and production base project will officially start construction in April 2024, with a total investment of approximately 650 million yuan, an area of approximately 92 acres, and a total capacity ofThe construction area is about 125,000 square meters, the floor area ratio is 2.0, and the total planned construction area is about 119,000 square meters.
The base will rely on leading companies such as Optics Valley Huaxing Optoelectronics and Tianma Microelectronics to extend the new display industry chain and innovation chain, focusing on the research and development of key technologies such as inkjet manufacturing equipment.
According to the plan, East Lake High-tech Zone strives to achieve a new display core industry scale of 50 billion yuan by 2025, driving the overall industry scale to exceed 100 billion yuan; by 2035, the core industry scale will reach 150 billion yuan, and more than 15 national-level innovation platforms will be built. After the base is completed, it will serve the construction of Wuhan's "Optical Core Screen Terminal Network" industrial cluster, promote the globalization and intensive development of regional industries, and inject strong impetus into the scientific and technological innovation development of East Lake High-tech Zone and China Optics Valley.
