Raster display
Mike Rockwell, Apple's vice president of technology development, once revealed Apple's use of raster displays. He said: "We also seriously considered wearing How you interact with others when using Vision Pro. EyeSight uses a unique curved OLED panel and a raster lens to project the correct perspective of the eye to everyone looking at you. This is the effect of the 3D display, which makes the device appear transparent. ”
Apple's licensed Vision Pro The patent relates to the use of grating displays.
The patent introduction states that the grating display can form a lens display with concave and convex curvature, and can have a grating lens film whose lenses extend the length of the display. The grating lens can be configured to enable stereoscopic viewing of the display.
In order to provide the display with greater curvature while ensuring satisfactory stereoscopic display performance, the display may have a stereoscopic area and a non-stereoscopic area. The central stereoscopic area may be inserted between the first and second non-stereoscopic areas, and the non-stereoscopic area may have a larger curvature than the stereoscopic area.
To prevent crosstalk within lenticular displays, louver films can be added to the display. The louver film may have multiple transparent portions separated by opaque walls. Opaque walls control the angle at which the display emits light, reducing crosstalk. The louver film can be inserted between the grating lens film and the display panel.
Apple patent Figure 9 is a cross-sectional side view of an exemplary curved raster display showing how non-stereoscopic regions can be included at the edges of the display to allow for more curvature in the display.
Apple patent Figure 11 shows a cross-sectional side view of an exemplary curved raster display that has a different radius of curvature in the non-stereoscopic region than in the stereoscopic region.
