Changzhi Hi-Tech expands LED packaging display production by RMB 300 million

On June 30, Changzhi Hi-Tech Group saw rapid development momentum: more than 400 LED packaging production lines were operating at full capacity, customers were urging LED display screens to be shipped, the newly built packaging workshop was debugging equipment, and the accessories workshop installed injection molding and die-casting equipment... … Li Jianming, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and CEO of Hi-tech, said that the LED industry has a good future and we have seized the opportunity to expand production. This year we invested more than 300 million yuan to launch three projects including packaging, display and accessories workshops, striving to become a new bright spot in the province’s non-coal industry and a leader in the national LED industry.

The Changzhi Hi-Tech LED project was launched in 2010 with a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan to build 9 projects including sapphire substrate, crystal, epitaxy and chip, packaging and lighting, display screen, and TV whiteboard. At present, it has 420 packaging production lines, with an annual output of 22 billion LED light-emitting diodes, ranking among the top five in the country in terms of production capacity; its monthly production capacity of 90,000 square meters of various types of display screens, ranking among the top in the country.

This year, Hi-tech took advantage of the rapid development of the LED industry and invested more than 300 million yuan to expand production of packaging and display screens, and to build supporting accessories workshops. 100 new LED packaging production lines have been added, and the equipment has been fully installed and is expected to be put into production soon; the new display production line equipment has also been debugged, and the monthly production capacity will be expanded to 150,000 square meters, with 30,000 square meters of full color and 120,000 square meters of monochrome; 50 million yuan has been invested to build an accessories workshop, and 150 sets of injection molding, die-casting and other equipment are being installed to provide structural components for display screens, lighting and TV whiteboards, further improving product cost advantages.

LED is the most promising green lighting technology in the 21st century, with huge market demand, rapid industry development, and a huge industrial pie. In 2014, the average annual growth rate of the world's LED industry exceeded 30%, and my country's growth rate was nearly 40%. Li Jianming said that high-tech is also developing along with the trend. The two major categories of packaging and display products are in short supply, and sales this year will exceed 1 billion yuan.
