Chengdu plans to support 9 new display industry projects, including TCL Optoelectronics.

On August 12, the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology released the "Announcement of the Proposed Support List for High-Quality Development Projects in the New Display Industry in 2023", which plans to provide subsidies and support to relevant projects that meet the requirements. A total of 9 companies are planned to be selected. The public announcement time is August 12-18, 2024.

The list shows that the nine projects to be supported are from Leybold Display, Panda Electronics, Lipxin Microelectronics, TCL Optoelectronics, Lishitong, Hongrui Optoelectronics, Chengdu Electronic Information Industry Association, Schindler Optoelectronics and Chaomai Optoelectronics.

It is reported that there are ten application special projects for the high-quality development of Chengdu's new display industry in 2023, namely investment-driven projects, supply chain collaboration projects, product chain application projects, production service projects, key technology innovation projects, major special supporting projects, forward-looking reserve projects, talent introduction projects, public platform projects, and exhibition and event projects, with a maximum reward of 10 million yuan.

Among them, the forward-looking reserve projects involve Micro/Mini LED. The specific application conditions include enterprises or industry associations that carry out soft topics in QLED, Mini LED, Micro LED, Micro OLED and other fields (Category I) or enterprises or industry associations that carry out technological innovation (Category II). If it belongs to category I, a subsidy of 500,000 yuan will be given to those with a score of 90 or above; if it belongs to category II, project funds will beThose investing no more than 1 million yuan will be given a subsidy of 400,000 yuan, and those investing more than 1 million yuan will be given a subsidy of 500,000 yuan.

In February last year, the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the Chengdu Municipal Finance Bureau jointly issued "Several Policies of Chengdu on Further Promoting the High-Quality Development of the New Display Industry." The policy consists of five chapters and 14 articles. The core content includes three parts: strengthening and extending the chain, strengthening innovation drive, and optimizing the industrial environment.

The policy has also clearly proposed to strengthen technology reserves in forward-looking fields, and provide subsidies of up to 500,000 yuan to companies that carry out forward-looking technology research in QLED, Mini LED, Micro LED, Micro OLED carbon-based display, holographic display, 3D display, laser display, printed display, polyimide materials (PI) for flexible displays, low-temperature polycrystalline oxide technology (LTPO) and other fields.
