China's Taiwan Qiyao Optoelectronics wins Japan's JDI transparent display order

Japanese panel manufacturer JDI has suffered losses for 11 consecutive years. This year, it has made a major move to downsize and close factories. In addition to concentrating production at the Ishikawa factory, it also plans to gradually outsource some manufacturing. It is rumored that the transparent display screen will be handed over to Qiyao Optoelectronics, a subsidiary of Innolux, for production this year. 12-inch and 30-inch transparent displays are expected to be mass-produced and shipped this year.

Qiyao Optoelectronics, a subsidiary of Innolux, was established in April 2004. Its main business covers flexible substrate lamination, COB solid chip foundry, transparent display screen, LCD glass substrate processing and LED lighting products. Relying on past mass production performance, Qiyao successfully won orders for 12-inch and 30-inch transparent displays released by JDI, and is expected to mass-produce and ship them this year.
It is understood that the current chairman and general manager of Qiyao is Chen Zhiming, who is also the deputy general manager of Innolux Nanke TFT Manufacturing Center.

At the beginning of this year, Cluster Innovation Strategy Electronics announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation and investment agreement with Japan Display. The two parties will cooperate in the field of ceramic advanced semiconductor packaging.In-depth cooperation was launched, but the original investment agreement fell through.
