Chinese scientists have overcome the technical problems of pure red perovskite LED

Perovskite materials are considered to be ideal materials for next-generation ultra-high-definition display technology. However, pure red perovskite LEDs have long been plagued by poor material stability.

Recently, Chinese scientists have overcome the technical difficulties of pure red perovskite LED and brought a touch of pure "Chinese red" to LED ultra-high-definition displays. Based on this "pure red", people will have the opportunity to see higher-definition and richer-color LED displays in the future.
It is reported that Yuan Mingjian, a professor at the School of Chemistry of Nankai University, Chen Jun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhang Wei, a researcher at the School of Chemistry of Nankai University, led a scientific research team to successfully solve this problem and develop a pure red perovskite electroluminescent device (LED) with both high efficiency and high stability. The research team's results were published online in the international academic journal "Nature" on February 20.
"Our eyes are particularly sensitive to color. The mixing and superposition of three colors of red, green and blue with different brightness can form various colors. With the help of the 'pure red' of pure red perovskite LED, the final display effect of the entire screen will also becomeMore colorful and colorful, with rich layers. " Yuan Mingjian said.
Yuan Mingjian introduced that the research team reported a new strategy for in-situ preparation of perovskite van der Waals epitaxial heterojunctions by a full solution method to improve the phase stability of perovskite quantum dots. On this basis, they successfully developed a pure red perovskite LED with world-class performance and stability, laying a technical foundation for the application of this "pure red" in ultra-high-definition displays.
In the future, this pure "Chinese red" may also promote the creation of a more dazzling and colorful "screen world." Chen Jun said that this technology is expected to further promote technological innovation in the ultra-high-definition display industry. For example, human-computer interaction fields such as virtual reality have high requirements for screen resolution and color saturation. This breakthrough can provide technical support for its development in the future.
