The main speaker system cannot be installed behind the screen according to the traditional mode and can only be deployed around the LED projection screen. In addition to Lopu, Unilumin also announced a DCI-certified sound-transparent LED movie screen in April this year. According to reports, Unilumin has optimized the design of the driver chip and driver circuit of the LED module, and developed a printed circuit board with a large opening area and evenly distributed opening positions. This structure has the function of protecting video content when the cover is opened, and the exposed chips and circuits of the LED sound-transparent module are sealed to ensure that the movie content is not stolen. The LED sound-transparent screen speaker system adopts a three-way design. The high-frequency and mid-frequency units are embedded behind the LED sound-transparent module, and the low-frequency unit is placed under the LED sound-transparent screen. The high-frequency unit uses a 3-inch titanium film compression driver with a power of 150W. The mid-frequency unit uses dual 10-inch cone diaphragms with a power of 600W. The low-frequency unit uses dual 15-inch diaphragms with a power of 1200W. The LED sound-transparent movie screen is 20.48 meters wide and 10.8 meters high. It supports 4K/96FPS projection and has a peak brightness of 300nit. It can support DCI-HDR projection requirements and has been commercialized in Nanjing Deji Plaza Xinjiekou International Cinema.

Industry experts said that compared with version 1.3, the requirements for brightness and chromaticity uniformity of LED movie screens at large viewing angles, screen contrast requirements, and continuity and accuracy of display brightness at extremely low brightness are mainly added. To perfectly meet the relevant requirements, LED movie screens need to make breakthroughs in light-emitting devices and control technology. This is undoubtedlyIt has added technical thresholds to the innovation and research and development of LED movie screens. The new standards do not impose requirements on traditional projection digital projectors, but only increase the indicators for the high frame rate of movie servers.

Industry insiders believe that with the existing new standards, it is expected that very few companies will be able to pass the new DCI certification test in the next 2-3 years (excluding applications with an application date before December 2, 2023). This will be a serious blow to companies that later apply for DCI certification, and it will also hinder the development speed of the entire LED movie screen industry!
