The overall shipment volume of high-end TV in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 44% year-on-year; after eight consecutive quarters of year-on-year revenue decline, the overall revenue of high-end TV achieved year-on-year growth in the second quarter, with an increase of 28%.
Specific to Mini LED TVs and OLED TVs, the former's total shipments increased by 68% year-on-year, and revenue increased by 60% year-on-year; while total OLED TV shipments increased by 21% year-on-year, and revenue increased by 5% year-on-year.
If MinCalculating i LED TV and OLED TV as a whole market, Mini LED TV accounted for 54% of both shipments and revenue last quarter, a reversal from the same period last year. This is also the first time that Mini LED TVs have surpassed OLED TVs in two major market indicators.
Broken down by brand, the top four high-end TV manufacturers in the second quarter of 2024 are still Samsung, Hisense, LG, and TCL, while Xiaomi has pushed Sony out of fifth place.
IT House noticed that among the above-mentioned six manufacturers, three Chinese companies grew rapidly in terms of shipments and revenue; the other three non-Chinese companies had poor data performance and a decline in revenue share.
In the second quarter of 2024, TCL successfully regained the top spot in Mini LED TV shipments held by Samsung for three years, and the gap in revenue share between the two companies in this field also narrowed to less than one percentage point.
