Emergency fire science popularization｜Fire rescue equipment—lifesaving lighting line

In complex environments such as subways, tunnels, high-rise buildings, caves, etc., fire rescue personnel are not familiar with building passages, carry air respirators with limited air capacity, and incorrectly choose entry and exit routes, which may very well lead to casualties of fire rescue personnel. However, how to find light and seize a glimmer of hope in a complex environment? Today I will introduce to you a "life-saving line" in rescue equipment - the life-saving lighting line.

1. Application Cases

On the morning of July 22, 2018, the valve at the bottom of the cinder dust storage tank in a factory in Fuqing, Fujian Province was damaged, and a worker's arm was stuck in the pipe while handling the fault. After receiving the alarm, the local fire rescue team immediately rushed to the scene for rescue. After the rescuers arrived at the scene, they found that the scene was thick with dust and high-temperature cinder dust was constantly leaking out. Finally, under the cover of spray water cannons, they used ropes and life-saving lighting lines to go deep inside and rescue the trapped people.

In the early morning of August 5, 2020, a trailer was involved in a car accident on the Qingjie Mountain section of the provincial highway in Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, leaving one person trapped. After receiving the alarm, the local fire rescue team immediately rushed to the scene for rescue. Because the trailer that rushed out of the roadbed broke two protective pillars on the roadside and stopped in the rice field, visibility in the rice field was very low late at night. The firefighters quickly laid out mobile lighting lines and lighting units and launched rescue operations. Soon, the driver was successfully rescued and sent to the hospital by on-site medical staff.

2. The composition and characteristics of the life-saving lighting line

The life-saving lighting line consists of a lighting line body, a special distribution box and an input cable. Yellow light strips are mostly used for line bodies. This is because yellow light has better visibility in the dark, its own thermal radiation is very low, and will not cause spontaneous combustion.

General life-saving lighting lines have the following characteristics:

(a) Good illumination: 5 to 8 meters wide non-light source space illumination, objects above 5cm are clearly visible;

(b) High strength: not afraid of being stepped on, resistant to bending, bending, and UV protection;

(c) Safe and reliable; with waterproof, leakage protection and other properties.

3. How to use and maintain the life-saving lighting line

How to use:

(a) Insert the life-saving lighting line into the interface on the special distribution box;

(b) Connect the special distribution box to the appropriate power source and light the life-saving lighting line;

(c) When entering the fire scene, lay the life-saving lighting line.

Maintenance requirements:

(a) Do not store it in a humid, acid-base environment for a long time;

(b) If it is not used for a long time, it should be powered on once a quarter.
