According to data, the production line project has a total investment of 29 billion yuan, covers an area of 420,000 square meters, and has a designed monthly production capacity of 50,000 pieces. The production line takes LTPO (low temperature polycrystalline oxide) and LTPS (low temperature polysilicon) technology as the core, focusing on the R&D and production of high-end products such as VR display panels, small and medium-sized high value-added IT display panels, and vehicle-mounted display panels.

The project will officially start construction in February 2023, and the completion acceptance of the project will be completed by the end of 2024. It is reported that the production line uses 1500mm×1850mm 6th generation glass substrate, is equipped with advanced production equipment, and integrates the experience of multiple mature production lines of BOE to greatly improve production efficiency and product accuracy. In terms of technological innovation, BOE's LTPO technology combines the high mobility of LTPS and the low power consumption advantages of Oxide, which can achieve ultra-high pixel density of more than 1500PPI and significantly reduce panel power consumption.

Based on the 6th generation new semiconductor display device production line, BOE hasSuccessfully lit up the self-developed ultra-high 2117PPI Real RGB display. In addition, at this delivery event, BOE also showcased 2.24-inch 1500PPI and 2.24-inch 1700PPI VR display modules that are ready for mass production, a 16-inch 240Hz gaming laptop screen (resolution 2560×1600, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut), and a 14.6-inch narrow-bezel high-end car central control screen and other products. BOE said that the full-scale mass production of this production line marks BOE's breakthrough in high-end display fields such as LTPO, LTPS, and Mini LED, further consolidating its industry position and accelerating the development of the global virtual reality industry and digital economy. BOE's multiple Mini/Micro LED projects will enter new nodes in 2025
It is worth noting that in addition to this 6th generation new semiconductor display device production line, BOE has multiple production projects that have entered key nodes since this year and involve the production of Mini/Micro LED. On March 10, BOE’s MLED Zhuhai project (Zhuhai Crystal Core Project) was officially delivered for mass production. The total investment of the project is about 1 billion yuan. It is located in Huafa Pingsha Electronic and Electrical Industrial Park, Zhuhai, with a factory area of more than 40,000 square meters. The LED display products produced by this project cover all mainstream point spacing applications, and the project's planned COB monthly production capacity will reach 10,000 square meters+. On March 19, BOE Huacan Micro LED factory, the world's first 6-inch Micro LED mass production line, held a product delivery ceremony in Jinwan District, Zhuhai. BOE Huacan released its latest Micro LED products and officially delivered COW (Chip on Wafer) and MPD (Micro Pixel Display) products to customers. It is reported that the BOE Huacan Micro LED factory mainly produces Micro LED wafers and pixel devices, targeting ultra-large and ultra-small size high-definition display scenarios, and is used in application fields such as large-size commercial displays, AR/VR head-mounted display devices, and wearable devices. After reaching full production, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 24,000 Micro LED wafer sets (6-inch pieces) and 45,000kk Micro LED pixel devices. In terms of AMOLED display technology, on May 20, BOE's first domestic 8.6-generation AMOLED display device production line began to move in process equipment. The total investment of the project is 63 billion yuan, with a designed production capacity of 32,000 glass substrates per month and a substrate size of 2290mm x 2620mm. This production line mainly focuses on medium-sized AMOLED panels, which are used in mid-to-high-end laptops, tablets and other IT products. It also has the ability to produce flexible OLED smartphone panels. BOE’s 8.6th-generation AMOLED display device production line project is expected to be mass-produced by the end of 2026 and 2029Achieve full production.
