Yves Bertic, senior business line director at Luminus, said that the CFT-50X series has made a breakthrough in LED technology and is particularly suitable for critical applications that have strict requirements for high optical power, precise spectrum and high reliability. These new LED products have a design life of more than 10 years and can provide stable performance for medical and industrial applications.
Specifically, the main features of the CFT-50X series include rich wavelength selection. The new series provides 10 spectra, which are especially optimized for fluorescent dyes/probes commonly used in scientific research markets such as life sciences. It is reported that in the next few quarters, the CFT-50X series will also add spectra in the deep red and near-infrared light regions.
The CFT-50X series also has an optimized coupling design. The product adopts a 5mm² square light-emitting area to facilitate efficient coupling with a 2~4mm diameter optical fiber bundle, and also provides a single light-emitting area., suitable for smaller diameter fibers.
In terms of performance, the CFT-50X series supports up to 4A/mm² DC current and 6A/mm² pulse mode operation, and maintains excellent wavelength stability under current and temperature changes.
The new product also has a solid structure, uses an isolated metal PCB, and has excellent thermal resistance; it is also equipped with an automotive-grade connector with a locking mechanism to ensure a stable and reliable connection.
The CFT-50X series includes multiple models optimized for specific applications, including ultraviolet (405–415nm), deep blue (440nm), blue (460nm), sky blue (470nm), display green (528nm), medical green (560nm), amber (600nm), and red (632nm). In addition, the series is available in standard color rendering index (65 CRI) and high color rendering index (92 CRI) white light versions.
According to data, Luminus focuses on providing high-output professional lighting products for markets with high performance requirements such as consumer displays, entertainment lighting, and medical applications.
It is worth noting that in addition to new LED products, Luminus has also recently reached a cooperation with Seaborough, a nm science and luminescence technology company, to bring the first LED product using nano-engineered Eu3+ (Europium ion)-based phosphor to the market.
