MicroLED driver chip manufacturer Sapien receives nearly 4 billion won in CMOS backplane orders

On July 22, Micro LED driver chip manufacturer Sapien Semiconductor (hereinafter referred to as "Sapien") announced that the company signed a CMOS backplane development contract with a European micro display module supplier, with a contract value of 3.939 billion Korean won (approximately RMB 20.72 million).



In June, Sapien also signed a CMOS backplane development contract worth 4.395 billion Korean won (approximately RMB 23.07 million) with an Asian Micro LED display manufacturer. In just two months, Sapien has received a total of over 8 billion won in orders.

Information shows that Sapien was founded in 2017 and is a fabless design company that specializes in providing customized ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) products and solutions for Micro LED display drivers. It mainly provides silicon-based driver backplanes for Micro LED micro and ultra-large size Micro LED display products.


It is reported that Sapien has many rich display driversAn expert in the mobile chip industry, it owns more than 140 intellectual property rights and has signed confidentiality agreements with about 50 large technology companies around the world to jointly promote the development of new display products.

Currently, Sapien has merged with the company Hana Must 7 Hospack and is listed on KOSDAQ in South Korea. In 2023, Sapien will achieve revenue of 3.21 billion won.
