On May 26, Ferrari officially released its first pure electric car, Luce, which is the brand’s first pure electric model.
The car has three display areas: the instrument panel in front of the driver's seat, the control panel for controlling the air conditioning system and media, and the rear control panel for controlling the rear air conditioning system and viewing driving information. Samsung Display supplies a total of four OLED panels for these areas, namely 12.9 inches, 12 inches, 10.1 inches and 6.3 inches.
As one of the highlights of the car, the driver's seat instrument panel adopts a multi-layer structure design that three-dimensionally superimposes two 12.9-inch and 12-inch OLED panels for the first time in the world. The 12-inch panel located on the lower level displays the basic background and scale. The 12.9-inch panel superimposed on the upper layer has three circular openings for viewing the image of the lower panel, and displays real-time torque (rotation force), pop-up messages, warning lights and other information around the openings.

Samsung Display pointed out that the design of the screen mainly benefits from its "Big Hole" processing technology. Usually the diameter of the front camera opening of a smartphone is within 5 mm, but the diameter of the opening used in the Luce driver's seat dashboard is about 100 mm, which is 20 times larger than the former. To this end, not only must sophisticated thin-film encapsulation technology be used to prevent OLED organic materials from coming into contact with moisture and air at the cutting site, but also the signal distortion that may occur when the driving signal bypasses the "Big Hole" and the resulting decrease in image quality uniformity must be solved.
A 10.1-inch OLED screen is installed on the central control panel and also uses HIAA (screen display area opening) technology to operate the air conditioning system and media functions. In addition, the multi-function display on the top of the control panel can display various information digitally by switching modes such as clock, stopwatch and compass; the display is equipped with three mechanical pointers fixed through small holes in the panel and can rotate 360 degrees.
The 6.3-inch OLED is installed on the rear passenger control panel behind the central armrest box, allowing passengers to directly view driving information and control the air conditioning device.
In terms of product form, Luce does not completely continue the traditional Ferrari sports car route. According to the initial impressions of on-site experiencers, this car is more like an SUV than a low-slung coupe in the classic sense. At the same time, it is Ferrari's second 4-door model and its first 5-seat model.
In terms of power, Luce is equipped with 4 motors with a maximum power of 1035 horsepower. Four-wheel independent motors, four-wheel independent active suspension, and independent rear wheel steering. 1050 horsepower, breaking 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, reaching 200km/h in 6.8 seconds, and a top speed of 310km/h.
In terms of price, the starting price of Luce in Italy is 550,000 euros (approximately RMB 4.35 million), and the US price has not yet been determined. (Compiled by TrendForce Display)
