Shentianma: Vehicle display orders are full, and vehicle MiniLED backlights enter mass production

In terms of performance and orders, Shentianma said that the company's vehicle display business mainly supplies to tier 1 customers, and it directly cooperates with OEMs on some projects. In the first three quarters of this year, the company's vehicle-mounted TFT revenue increased by nearly 30% year-on-year. The company's vehicle-mounted business is currently full of orders on hand, and its future order volume and order volume continue to exceed highs.

On the above basis, Shentianma has introduced advanced production capabilities such as the newly constructed 8.6th generation line (TM19) and new display module production line (TM20) for the vehicle display business, boosting the scale growth and specification upgrade of the company's vehicle business.

It is understood that the 8.6th generation line (TM19) officially started construction in September this year, with a total investment of 33 billion yuan. It is Tianma's first high-generation production line specializing in the field of small and medium-sized displays. The production line will use a-Si (amorphous silicon) and IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) as the main technologies, targeting display applications such as automotive and IT displays. It is expected to be lit and mass production will begin in the second half of 2024.

The new display module production line (TM20) started construction in November this year, with a total project investment of 8 billion yuan. The production line products are intended for the target market of 6.5-40-inch professional display modules (vehicles, industrial products, etc.) and IT display modules (tablets, laptops, monitors, etc.).

Shen Tianma said that TM19 and TThe flexible combination of the M20 production line and the company's existing production lines will effectively support the upgrade of automotive products in terms of size and specifications, systematically improve the production capacity level and module capabilities including automotive business, and further strengthen the company's competitive advantage in the automotive field.

Automotive MiniLED backlights have entered mass production, but OLED applications still need time

As for MiniLED and OLED new display technologies, which are currently the most popular in-vehicle displays, Shentianma said that MiniLED backlights are one of the upgrade solutions for in-vehicle displays and can match the existing mainstream LCD production technology. The company's Mini LED technology solutions have been commercialized for major overseas automotive customers and have entered the mass production stage. At the same time, the company continues to actively promote customer cooperation with more Mini LED solutions based on the customer's project pace and needs.

On the other hand, regarding OLED technology, Shenzhen Tianma believes that OLED can provide more diversified solutions for vehicle-mounted displays. However, the application of OLED technology in the field of vehicle-mounted displays still faces problems such as vehicle-grade stability and lifespan. The industry still needs to increase investment in improving and upgrading related technologies and solutions.
