Messe Frankfurt welcomes a new member of the lighting and building technology brand this year - "Shanghai International Lighting Fair". The first exhibition will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from September 3 to 5, 2014. It is expected to bring together more than 100 exhibitors to showcase their innovative lighting products and solutions to cater to the huge demand in the East and Central China engineering project markets.
The 2014 exhibition will be held concurrently with the Shanghai International Intelligent Building Exhibition, Shanghai International Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Urban Construction Equipment and Technology Exhibition and China International Optoelectronic Architecture Forum and Exhibition. The four exhibitions are expected to have a total area of more than 40,000 square meters, creating synergies and opening up more business opportunities for real estate and infrastructure construction buyers.
Mr. Hu Zhongshun, general manager of Guangzhou Guangya Frankfurt Messe Co., Ltd., said: "The engineering project business in East and Central China is developing rapidly, and the Shanghai International Lighting Exhibition came into being. Through our experience and industry network in organizing the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition for many years, we hope to bring together lighting design and technology companies to jointly explore unlimited business opportunities in the commercial and residential construction project markets."
The content of this exhibition mainly includes the following fields:
• Outdoor lighting applications
o Road lighting, architectural lighting, courtyard/garden lighting, tunnel lighting, stadium lighting, advertising lighting
• Commercial lighting applications
o Retail lighting, office lighting, industrial lighting, hotel lighting
• Home lighting applications
• Lamp accessories and LED technology
o Substrate, epitaxial wafer, chip, package, device, module, driver and control
The rapid growth of engineering projects in East China has driven huge demand in the smart lighting market
According to the energy-saving targets listed in the national "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", the government has formulated a new policy. In East China, Central China and even the whole country, the energy-saving indicators of all new construction projects shall not be less than 65% by 2015, in an effort to reduce national energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Relevant measures have greatly stimulated the demand for energy-saving related products, including smart lighting systems and LED lighting solutions.
As an economic center, Shanghai has always led the country in the scale of development of engineering projects. According to the goals set in the "Shanghai Commercial "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" Development Plan", from 2013 to 2020, the city will build 64 commercial centers, including 14 municipal commercial centers with a high concentration of commercial facilities and a total construction area of not less than 500,000 square meters; the remaining 50 regional-level commercial centers, with a total construction area of commercial facilities not less than 300,000 square meters.
In addition, there is also a strong demand for sustainable and energy-saving lighting solutions in existing building renovation projects. Construction projects, including hotels, public infrastructure, medical facilities, commercial and residential buildings, etc., all favor innovative lighting solutions to achieve specified energy-saving goals. Talking about market development opportunities, Mr. Hu added: "The emphasis on engineering projects in East China and Central China has brought good development opportunities to the lighting market. By holding the Shanghai Exhibition, we are committed to creating the preferred professional platform in the region to help lighting manufacturers and engineering project decision-makers establish business contacts and expand business networks."
Shanghai International Lighting Exhibition is the sister exhibition of Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (Asia's most comprehensive and forward-looking lighting and LED industry event). The parent exhibition of the two exhibitions is "Light + Building - Frankfurt International Lighting and Building Technology and Equipment Exhibition". This exhibition is held every two years in Frankfurt, Germany. The next one will be held from March 16 to 18, 2016.
