The maximum price exceeds 20,000 yuan, and it is rumored that Apple’s first folding screen has been put into trial production

On April 6, it was reported that Foxconn had started trial production of Apple’s first foldable screen iPhone. Apple’s previous shipment guidance to suppliers was to launch the model in the second half of 2026.

This foldable screen iPhone adopts a horizontal book-style folding design. When unfolded, the screen is about 8 inches, with a resolution of 4K level and a screen ratio of 4:3. The display effect is close to that of iPad mini. When closed, it looks similar to a regular straight iPhone.

Influenced by the thin and light design of the fuselage, the phone canceled Face ID facial recognition and instead used the power button integrated fingerprint recognition.

The external screen uses a punch-hole front camera, and the camera area retains the smart island function, which can display notifications and real-time activities. Due to internal space limitations, the rear is only equipped with a dual-camera module.

In terms of system, the device runs native iOS, adopts an iPad-style UI layout, and supports dual applications side by side in split screen. Apple will provide developers with adaptation tools to optimize the application experience on the folding screen.

In terms of pricing, the overseas price of this model is about US$2,000. The starting price of the National Bank version is expected to be between 14,000 and 15,000 yuan. The price of the top-end version may exceed 20,000 yuan, making it the highest priced model in the 2026 iPhone series.

The imaging system is equipped with a rear dual 48-megapixel main camera, and the front uses an internal under-screen camera + external screen hole-punch camera solution.
