The national standard for visible light communications will be implemented on April 1

According to information from the National Standard Information Public Service Platform, the "Remote Communication and Information Exchange between Information Technology Systems Visible Light Communication Part 1: Media Access Control and Overall Requirements for the Physical Layer" standard number: GB/T 36628.1-2018, issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the China National Standardization Administration, was officially implemented on April 1.

GB/T 36628 "Information Technology Inter-system Telecommunications and Information Exchange Visible Light Communication" standard is divided into four parts: the first part is the overall requirements for media access control and physical layer; the second part is the indoor positioning technical specifications based on visible light communication; the third part is the high-speed visible light communication media access control and physical layer specifications; the fourth part is the low-speed narrowband visible light communication media access control and physical layer specifications.

The standard released this time is the first part, drafted and compiled by China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute, Shenzhen HiSilicon Semiconductor Co., Ltd., China University of Information Engineering, Beijing All-Electronic Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, Fudan University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.

This part of GB/T 36628 specifies the physical layer requirements and overall media access control layer requirements for high-speed visible light communication, low-speed visible light communication and indoor positioning based on visible light communication, and is applicable to the development and use of visible light communication systems and equipment.
