The world's first mass-produced glass-based Micro-LED screen was born in Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone

Reporters learned from Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone on November 30 that Yuanxu Semiconductor Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yuanxu Semiconductor"), a company in the zone, recently released the world's first mass-produced Micro-LED (micro-light-emitting diode) display using glass-based pixel-level integrated packaging technology. This not only marks my country's key leap from "following" to "leading" in the field of new display technology, but also indicates that the high-end display market has entered a new stage of development.

According to reports, the display screen released by Yuanxu Semiconductor integrates RGB pixels directly on the glass substrate. By applying ultra-precision semiconductor technology on ultra-flat glass, the size of the main chip is reduced to less than 50 microns, achieving an extremely compact package size. This product relies on three major breakthroughs: material system innovation, process reconstruction and equipment intelligent collaboration to present an extremely delicate display screen, which can reach 99.6% pureBlack coverage and 300000:1 ultra-high contrast perfectly restore deep blacks and rich details.

"The most important thing is that the reliability of our technology has been greatly improved, mainly reflected in two aspects: fewer dead pixels and longer life." Xi Guangyi, chairman of Yuanxu Semiconductor, said, "Unlike the way in the market that solves reliability problems through service replacement, our products use semiconductor packaging technology from the device side, which fundamentally improves reliability and creates the possibility for products to enter thousands of households in the future."

At present, this technology has successfully promoted the commercialization of Micro-LED in ultra-high-definition scenes such as home theaters, high-end commercial displays, and digital art displays, and has expanded to areas such as vehicle-mounted displays, medical imaging, and virtual production that require extremely high image quality and stability.

The rapid development of Yuanxu Semiconductor is inseparable from the good environment provided by Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone. "With the support of Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone, the company has quickly introduced mass production since the trial production started in March this year. The production capacity has been greatly increased, and the scale effect has also led to further reduction of costs." Xi Guangyi said with confidence, "The current orders have reached 200 million yuan, and we expect to usher in a new round of order growth next year. To this end, we have planned to double our production capacity to meet the continued growth of market demand."

At present, Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone has gathered more than 1,000 upstream and downstream enterprises in the information innovation industry chain, including more than 170 key enterprises this year., the total scale of the Xinchuang industry in the High-tech Zone will exceed 80 billion yuan, with a growth rate of more than 20%, forming a complete industrial ecosystem from chip design, operating systems to terminal applications.
