With an investment of 1.5 billion yuan, Unilumin Technology participated in building Asia’s first LED spherical giant screen cinema
According to Southern Finance, the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural Industry Investment Conference was held at the Guangzhou Huangpu International Convention Center from November 26th to 28th. A total of 8 projects completed on-site signings at the conference, with a cumulative intended signing amount of approximately 6 billion yuan.
Among them, the Guangzhou Pearl Spherical Giant Screen Project signed by Guangzhou Wandering Earth Culture Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Zhouming Technology Co., Ltd. will cost 1.5 billion yuan to create a new landmark in the future Greater Bay Area.
The project covers an area of 15,000 square meters and is Asia's first spherical giant screen cinema with a diameter of 88 meters and a height of 66 meters tall and can accommodate 5,000 people to watch holographic performances. It is equipped with the world's largest robot and drone shopping mall of 25,000 square meters. After completion, the annual output value is expected to be 3 billion yuan, driving the development of 10 new industries such as LED light display, beam forming audio, holographic movies, artificial intelligence, robots, and drones.
It is understood that Unilumin Technology has long been deployed in the field of LED movie screens. Its UCINE series LED movie products have been applied in many cities at home and abroad. The screen size covers 5 to 20 meters, which can meet the customized needs of different types of cinemas.
In order to solve the limitations of traditional LED movie screens in sound effects, Unilumin Technology released the world's first sound-transparent LED movie screen in May 2024, which effectively solved the technical problem of "inconsistent sound and image" and has been implemented in Nanjing.
On June 21 this year, Shenzhen’s first ART HOUSE art cinema was unveiled in the K11 seaside cultural and art district of Prince Bay, with a total area of approximately 4,000 square meters. The theater uses Unilumin's UCine 4K LED projection system. The theater can not only be used for regular movie screenings, but can also host a variety of scenarios such as brand releases, e-sports events, and corporate events.
In addition, Unilumin Technology is currently continuing to explore the application of AI+LED in the fields of film and television creation and cultural IP derivatives, promoting the implementation of LED movie screens in cultural tourism and commercial scenarios. Through technology optimization and scale effect, its full range of LED movie screens have been commercialized, and the cost has dropped compared with last year.
