On September 16, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vogel Optoelectronics Jiangxi Dehong display project was held. The groundbreaking of the project marks the official start of the mass production construction of MiniLED glass substrates at the Xinyu base of Vogel Group.
It is reported that the project was announced in February this year and is located in Woge Technology Park, Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. The total investment is about 1.65 billion yuan. It is planned to build a new 60,000 square meter factory. After the project is completed, the total production capacity of glass-based Mini/Micro LED substrates will be 5.24 million square meters in the year of production.
Yi Weihua, chairman of Woge Optoelectronics, said that the industry iteration opportunity in the entire display industry in the past ten years lies in the Mini LED backlight project. In recent years, through in-depth research and development of Mini LED, Vogel has mastered mature technology, achieved breakthrough results, and can achieve mass production.
It is learned from the 2021 annual report of Vogel Optoelectronics that it has overcome the core technical difficulties of MiniLED glass-based technology, including core technologies such as photolithography technology, thick copper coating, and massive drilling of glass-based glass substrates, and has the entire industry chain technology and production capabilities for MiniLED direct display and backlight modules.
It is worth mentioning that Vogel Optoelectronics’ Mini LED layout has attracted much attention from the industry. Recently, Yi Weihua, chairman and general manager of Woge Optoelectronics, shared the latest progress of the company's MiniLED at the 2022 semi-annual performance briefing.
General Manager Yi Weihua said that the company has beenTo promote business transformation, the integration of the Mini LED industry has been completed. Technologies that can be marketed include Jiangxi Dehong's Mini LED glass-based backlight project and Hubei Tongge Micro's chip packaging carrier board project. In addition, the company currently has no other acquisition intentions.
Yi Weihua said that the company's multiple new projects will gradually be mass-produced: subsidiary Jiangxi Dehong has begun investment and construction of a glass-based Mini/Micro LED substrate production project. It is expected to achieve partial mass production in the second half of this year and form a large-scale mass production capacity of one million square meters per year in the second half of next year.
The Mini LED project cooperated by the company and Zhongqi Optoelectronics is carried out by Hubei Tongge Micro. The project is currently in the investment and construction stage and is expected to achieve the first phase of 300,000 square meters of production capacity in the second half of next year.
In addition, the Tianmen Hubei Baoang project was closed in June. Afterwards, clean room decoration and other matters will be carried out. It is expected that the overall trial production will be launched in December this year.
Yi Weihua said that the company's Mini LED production capacity is currently mainly in Jiangxi Dehong and Dongguan Huichen. In order to maximize the business synergy between subsidiaries, reduce communication and operation costs, and improve efficiency, the company has invested in the construction of a production demonstration line at the Songshan Lake Southern Base in Dongguan. The subsidiary Shenzhen Huichen will also transfer production capacity to the Dongguan Songshan Lake base.
At present, the company's subsidiaries are operating well and the business is progressing smoothly. Customers such as BOE Fine Electric and Faurecia have successively begun toThe production base was audited, focusing on the application of MiniLED in the automotive field. Jiangxi Dehong mainly provided MiniLED glass substrates, and Shenzhen Huichen provided MiniLED backlight module products.
In terms of product advantages, Yi Weihua introduced that the 27-inch and 34-inch 0 OD glass-based full-panel MiniLED backlight products developed by the company for e-sports displays have passed customer verification and received small batch orders, making a breakthrough in productization since three years of research and development.
It is reported that in addition to providing complete MiniLED photoelectric display module products to end customers, Woge Optoelectronics can also provide MiniLED glass substrates, light panels, and backlight module products. It can also provide customers with glass substrate processing business.
