BOE has made a new breakthrough in Micro LED: it has innovatively developed two high-brightness glass-based Micro LED HUDs, leading the way in the development of smart cockpits.

In recent years, with the rise of new energy vehicles, major car companies have gradually regarded intelligent vehicle configuration as a core selling point. HUD head-up display can provide a more efficient information display form for the car's smart cockpit, assisting in improving driving safety and comfort. It is known as automotive black technology, so it has attracted much attention from the industry and has begun to appear on mass-produced models.


BOE has a forward-looking layout in the field of automotive display and has accumulated a lot of experience. It recently launched two high-brightness HUD head-up display solutions based on COG (glass-based) Micro LED technology, which has attracted widespread attention in the industry. One of them is the 6.2-inch P0.2 high-brightness RGB Micro LED HUD, which uses BOE’s unique backplane process + self-developed high-efficiency Micro LED chip technology. The module brightness can reach 30,000 nits. It is also specially designed to achieve seamless splicing under high PPI and is perfectly suitable for various application scenarios; the other is the world’s first ultra-bright single-color glass-based Micro LED with a pitch of only 58 microns. HUD, display pixel density reaches 431PPI, peak brightness reaches 300,000 nits, ensuring that the projected information can be clearly seen in strong light environments during the day, and is suitable for head-up displays in vehicles and special fields.

It also uses BOE's unique backplane process to greatly improve the LED brightness attenuation problem caused by excessive temperature rise, achieving more than 3 The module brightness is 10,000 nits; the special GOA design solution developed by BOE has been innovatively introduced to achieve seamless splicing effect under high PPI, which can perfectly match a variety of application scenarios. At the same time, it is equipped with a special wiring design to reduce the coupling problem after different signals overlap and further improve the image quality performance.

As a disruptive head-up display product, BOE’s 300,000 nits ultra-bright single-color P0.058 glass-based Micro LED HUD technology solution adopts BOE’s unique backplane process and leverages the high mobility advantage and low resistance material characteristics of LTPS to significantly increase the driving current density and support Micro The LED chip achieves ultra-high brightness and high pixel density display, and simultaneously develops low-power glass backplane technology, which can reduce power consumption by more than 40%, greatly improving display energy efficiency and lifespan. Based on special optical packaging design + high-brightness optical microstructure technology, the module brightness is increased by 16% compared with traditional solutions, achieving a peak brightness of 300,000 nits, which is 15-30 times the peak brightness of mainstream LCD heads-up displays. It is the first choice for future smart cockpit display solutions.
