In addition to Yiben Technology, domestic equipment manufacturers such as Jingzhida, Jintuo, Delong Laser, China Microelectronics Corporation, Hefei Xinyihua, and Han's Semiconductor are also continuously working on Micro LED testing, packaging, mass transfer, stripping, repair, and epitaxial growth equipment, and have achieved the latest technology research and development results and business progress.
At present, the LED industry is still vigorously deploying Micro LED technology, and the industry development trend has not been affected by well-known technology companies. As downstream manufacturers accelerate the research and production of Micro LED, related production needs continue to increase, bringing valuable development opportunities to domestic equipment.
Recently, the well-known MOCVD equipment manufacturer Aistron stated that the LED industry is still conducting research on Micro LED technology, and the company has received a number of projects under construction for R&D and trial testing.Point production line customer orders, multiple customers are considering increasing Micro LED production in 2027 or 2028. Aixtron expects the company's Micro LED revenue to reach tens of millions of euros in fiscal year 2024, and is confident in the future development prospects of the Micro LED business.
Qiu Yubin, senior deputy general manager of research at TrendForce, pointed out that although Apple has canceled its mass production plan for the Micro LED version of Apple Watch in 2026, domestic and foreign companies are still promoting the development of Micro LED technology through acquisitions, joint ventures, cooperation, etc., and the determination and trend of companies to develop Micro LED have not changed.
TrendForce predicts that global Micro LED chip output will be worth approximately US$62 million in 2024, with most of the demand coming from large displays. With the development of Micro LED technology in the automotive display and near-eye display application markets, the global Micro LED chip output value will be close to US$600 million by 2028. This is only the output value of the Micro LED chip part. With the transfer, testing equipment, backplane and other industrial chains behind it, the output value of the Micro LED industry will far exceed US$600 million.
