Recently, at the CHINAPLAS 2026 exhibition, Mojie Technology and BASF jointly released an AI+AR glasses reference design, and the two parties reached an ecological cooperation. The solution focuses on lightweighting and wearing comfort, and is demonstrated through the collaborative integration of optical and material technologies.
In terms of technology, Mojie Technology provides optical solutions based on resin diffraction light waveguides, which are mainly used to achieve lightweight display structures; BASF provides Ultramid? LIGHT S series materials for lens frames and structural parts. The material has a density of approximately 0.77 g/cm3 and contains a certain proportion of bio-based components. It also has good fluidity and molding properties and is suitable for complex structural design and mass production manufacturing.
Mojie Technology was established in November 2021. It is a high-tech enterprise focusing on the research and development of AR core technology and high-precision mass production manufacturing. The company currently has operations in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Wuhu, Jiangyin and other places, and is expanding to overseas markets such as Silicon Valley in the United States and Singapore. Its founding team has been deeply involved in the field of AR for a long time, and has certain technical accumulation in the fields of optical display and sensory interaction.
In terms of core technology, Mojie Technology carries out research and development around resin diffractive optical waveguides and continues to promote optimization at the design, material and process levels. The company has upgraded the size of resin wafers from 8 inches to 12 inches, and the number of optical waveguide output corresponding to a single wafer has increased from about 6-8 pieces to 15-20 pieces, which to a certain extent helps to increase production capacity and dilute manufacturing costs. At the same time, the refractive index of its resin material has reached above 1.7, and it is expected to achieve further breakthroughs within this year.
Based on the above technical path, Mojie has gradually built a R&D and manufacturing system covering optical devices, optical systems and complete machine integration, providing lightweight and mass production capability support for consumer-grade AR glasses. The company has cooperated with enterprises such as Lenovo, OPPO and SoftBank Group to promote the development and implementation of related products.
In terms of product display, Mojie Technology released a number of AI+AR glasses reference designs during CES 2026. Among them is a solution that uses resin diffractive optical waveguides to achieve binocular color display. The whole machine weighs about 50 grams, integrates cameras and Wi-Fi modules, and supports multi-modal interactions such as finger rings, micro-gestures, touch and voice.
In addition, the company also demonstrated a semi-frame reference design with a total machine weight of approximately 38 grams, as well as related resin optical waveguide and micro-light engine technical solutions. Overall, these demonstrations are mainly used to verify its technical paths and engineering capabilities in the direction of lightweight and multi-modal interaction.
