On March 16, OPPO made price adjustments for some products that have been released. This marks that due to the rising price of memory, the mobile phone industry has now entered an era of price increases.
According to the comprehensive announcement information, the products currently on sale that are subject to price adjustments include OPPO A series, K series and OnePlus, excluding OPPO Find series, Reno series and OPPO Pad series.
It is worth mentioning that following OPPO and OnePlus, vivo and iQOO also officially announced adjustments to the recommended retail prices of some products today.
vivo stated that due to the continued sharp rise in global semiconductor and storage costs, after careful evaluation, the company will adjust the recommended retail prices of some products starting from 10:00 on March 18, 2026. The specific model and price are subject to the product details page of the official channel.
According to TrendForce’s latest mobile phone panel survey, shortages and rising prices of memory, which account for a very high cost of mobile phones, have impacted brands’ shipment plans for 2026 and further weakened panel shipment momentum. Global mobile phone panel shipments are estimated to be approximately 2.14 billion units in 2026, down approximately 7.3% from 2.31 billion units in 2025, ending the growth cycle since 2023 and turning into an annual decrease for the first time.
The proportion of AMOLED mobile phone panel shipments will increase from 41.2% in 2025 to 43.2% in 2026. On the other hand, the living space of LTPS LCD has been severely squeezed, and its share is expected to shrink from 4.4% to 2.5%. A-Si LCD, which focuses on low-end models, maintains a market share of approximately 54.4%.
Faced with the pressure of memory pushing up the cost of the whole machine, mobile phone brand manufacturers may pass on part of the cost to consumers on the one hand. On the other hand, in order to maintain the competitiveness of terminal selling prices, they will also carry out intense supply chain cost control, including exerting greater pressure on bargaining and price reductions on suppliers of panels and other key components.
