Porotech takes the lead in building the world’s most complete AR supply chain

As the core technology leader at this exhibition, Porotech has successfully built the industry's first 8-inch process platform specifically designed for Micro LED applications, and achieved a technological breakthrough in reducing the pixel size to 1.25um, fully demonstrating the unlimited potential of GaN-on-Si Micro LED technology. While promoting the commercialization process, Porotech also announced the launch of a new red LED product - SpectraCore™. Compared with existing red light, it is not only 5 times brighter, but also has an ultra-narrow spectrum and ultra-high color purity. Regardless of driving conditions, the red light wavelength is always stable and exhibits excellent thermal stability and reliability.

In this battle, Porotech has overcome the biggest bottleneck in Micro LED full-color application - red light performance and stability issues, laying a key foundation for achieving true full-color near-eye display. Combined with Porotech's patented 8-inch process platform, mass production is achieved, marking a major key progress towards the commercialization of Micro LED full-color displays.

Red light has always been the most challenging part of microdisplay technology. Traditional AlInGaP (indium gallium phosphide) materials face problems such as low efficiency and poor reliability, and cannot meet the product needs of commercialization and consumer electronics.

As the first company in the industry to commercialize InGaN red light in 2021, Porotech has broken this technical bottleneck. InGaN red light not only has the advantages of high efficiency and high reliability, but is also highly consistent in optoelectronic properties with InGaN blue and green light materials, which is conducive to process integration on a single material platform. However, InGaN red light has long-term technical challenges such as wavelength drift, excessive half-peak width, and poor color purity.
