RGB LED and Micro LED projects in Shaanxi and Shandong are accelerating

Recently, LED projects in many places have received construction and progress updates, involving RGB LED, Micro LED advanced packaging production lines, etc.

According to official news from Shenmu News Network, Shaanxi Guoxing Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. has recently made progress in its LED display chip packaging and testing project located in the Zero-Carbon Semiconductor Industrial Park in Shenmu Economic Development Zone: Factory No. 1 has been officially put into production, and Factory No. 4 and No. 5 are under construction. It is expected to be put into trial production in August this year; after the project is fully completed, the annual production capacity will reach 50 billion lamp beads.

The total investment in this project is approximately 1.6 billion yuan, mainly building 1,000 SMD RGB LED packaging production lines, 100 SMT RGB production lines, and new display-related production lines such as semiconductor IC product packaging.

Qichacha information shows that Shaanxi Guoxing Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2023. In terms of equity structure, Sichuan Yucai Electronic Components Manufacturing Co., Ltd. holds 70.0001% of the shares, and Shenmu State-owned Capital Investment and Operation Group Co., Ltd. holds 29.9999% of the shares.

Shaanxi Guoxing Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on the field of RGB LED chip packaging and testing. Its products are mainly used in high-definition display scenarios such as commercial complexes, transportation hubs, and outdoor media. It has currently established cooperative relationships with display companies such as Leyard, Unilumin, and BOE.

With a total investment of nearly 1 billion, Qingdao Micro LED project has launched design bidding

On May 29, Qingdao Public Resource Trading Electronic Service System released the "Tender Announcement for a Full-chain Production Project of Ceramic Glass Substrates with an Annual Production of 1 Million Square Meters." According to the announcement, the scope of the bidding includes schematic design, preliminary design, construction drawing design, and cooperation throughout the construction process.

According to the bidding documents, the project is located in Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with a total investment of approximately 975 million yuan, and is constructed by Qingdao Bei'an Qixin Display Technology Co., Ltd. The total land area of the project is 45,405 square meters, and the total construction area is 52,500 square meters, including 500 square meters of underground construction area. The project plans to build three production lines including a Micro LED advanced packaging full-process demonstration line.

The project will introduce 52 sets of core equipment in the glass substrate section, including glass cutting and splitting machines, etching and cleaning machines, etc.; 38 sets of core equipment in the advanced packaging section, including UV degluing machines, wafer arrangement machines, crystal spinners, unloading machines/wafer storage machines, etc.

Qichacha information shows that Qingdao Bei'an Qixin Display Technology Co., Ltd. was established in March 2026 and is 100% owned by Qingdao Bei'an Jushi Industrial Investment Co., Ltd. The latter is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qingdao Bei'an Industrial Investment Holding Co., Ltd. "Bei'an Industrial Investment" was established in 2023 with a registered capital of 3 billion yuan.

From the perspective of regional industrial layout, Qingdao has continued to promote the development of new display industries in recent years. For example, as one of the top ten emerging industry professional parks planned and constructed by Qingdao City, Qingdao New Display Industrial Park plans to build three large areas: module panel area, material equipment area and terminal application area, covering an area of approximately 5754 acres, 7650 acres and 900 acres respectively.

At present, the park has formed an industrial chain layout with Hisense Video and BOE as the core, and has gathered a number of materials and equipment supporting companies. Public information shows that the local matching rate of BOE's backlight sources has reached 100%, and the local matching rate of Hisense TV metal backplanes, diffusion plates and other components is close to 80%.

The launch of design bidding for this project means that Qingdao has added new projects in the layout of Micro LED and new display industry chain.
