SCO Plant Factory is located in Xiaoxintuan Village, Ligezhuang Town, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province. It covers a total area of 10 acres and has a total investment of over 100 million yuan. It has been officially put into operation recently.

This project deploys a modular vertical planting system, adopts intelligent environmental control and intelligent operation technology, and builds a million-level sterile automated micro-module plant factory in China. The cleanliness of the entire factory is equivalent to the standard of a pharmaceutical factory.

This plant factory is operated by Qingdao Hefoxconn Smart Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. It is understood that the project integrates solutions such as germination, integration of seedlings, modular three-dimensional planting, multi-spectral lighting system, precise nutrient solution fertilization, etc., supplemented by technical means such as environmental control, automation equipment, and big data collection and analysis application. It is known as It can achieve quality assurance of zero residual liquid, zero pesticides, zero heavy metals, zero E. coli, zero parasite eggs, low nitrate, and low bacterial count in crops, and the energy-saving effect and water-saving rate are greatly improved. It is worth mentioning that the company has dozens of patents, ranging from micro-modules, three-dimensional planting, precision nutrition, environmental control systems to full-process automation, which are all core technologies independently developed.


It is reported that Foxconn’s original micro-modular plant factory growth technology uses micro-module growth boxes to achieve accurate calculation and distribution of nutrient solutions, and can independently disassemble and assemble supporting unitized lighting and airflow modules, creating a more flexible and advanced plant factory growth system.
This modern plant factory has a core planting area of 950 square meters, where vegetables are grown as efficiently and accurately as an industrial production line. There are 16 layers of vegetables arranged on rows of 20-meter-high planting racks. In addition, Chinese herbal medicines and edible flowers with higher economic added value such as anomatis and ginseng will also be planted.
It is reported that 50% of the planned production capacity will be reached by the end of 2025, that is, a daily production of 250 kilograms of fresh vegetables. It is expected to be officially reached in 2026, and the annual output will reach 180 tons after reaching full capacity. The current project is in trial production Vegetables have been directed to customers.

In addition, there are overhead robots and latent robots in the plant factory that are responsible for the entire process from sowing, transplanting, adding liquid, harvesting to transportation. For example, when a batch of lettuce needs to be added with nutrient solution, the system will automatically issue a task, and the robot will accurately locate the corresponding storage location, remove the planting box and send it to the adding solution line, and then return it to the original place after adding the solution. This factory is not only a demonstration window for the company's smart agriculture field, but also a rural revitalization project supported by the Qingdao Municipal Government in the Shanghai Cooperation Demonstration Zone. In the future, a complete set of technologies, equipment and standards may be exported to countries along the "Belt and Road".
